The Manufacturing Technologist Associate reports to the Process Development Lab Manager. This role supports continual Process Development (PD) improvement with a focus on cell culture. This role supplies Research & Development (R&D) with material for assays, and processes incoming tissue products for downstream use in-house.

JOB DUTIES

      • Perform manufacturing runs expanding transduced and non-transduced T-Cell product  
      • Assess potential process improvements in cell manufacturing processes  
      • Cell culture expansion for in-house stock – prepare/generate banks of cell subsets for cell lines, banked T-Cells, expanded T-cells  
      • Maintain stocks of critical cell lines (adherent and non-adherent)  
      • Perform primary T-Cell Culture following Triumvira SOPs  
      • Maintain detailed electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) and submit them in a timely manner  
      • Work with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure proper and appropriate logging of material  
      • Participate in lab meetings to co-ordinate with lab peers  
      • Process incoming material for use by other PD and R&D peers  
      • Use aseptic technique when working with lab materials  
      • Maintain a clean operating environment conducive to aseptic cell culture work  
      • Analyze experimental results and communicate with PD Lab Manager about all required next steps and actions required  

  

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Science, Biotechnology, Biology)  

  • 4-6 years’ experience with mammalian cell culture minimum


    WORK-RELATED EXPERIENCE


      • Experience with cell culture (2 years)  
      • Experience in experimental design (2 years)  
      • Early understanding of Cell and Gene Therapy, GLP, GMP, QbD principles & regulations and the importance of incorporating into daily activities  
      • Experience with principles involved in data integrity and data analysis (statistics) 
      • Laboratory benchwork skills (e.g. pipetting, preparing reagents, maintaining sterility) (3 years minimum)  
      • Documentation of experimental plans and bench notes  
      • Operation of basic laboratory equipment – BSC, Centrifuge, Cell Counter (2 years minimum)  
      • Summarizing results in written format or presentations for external and internal review  
      • Basic understanding of the IND and CTA submission process.
