What you'll do:

Body Technicians repair accident-related damage to vehicles, restoring them to pre-collision condition in accordance with industry standards and factory specifications. You are responsible to perform quality repairs in a timely matter.


Our body technicians are industry leaders and master repairers who possesses the ability to teach, mentor and lead a small team, including apprentice / helper technicians. 


Responsibilities:

  • Examines damaged vehicle by performing a complete disassembly and efficiently plans repair process with the repair planner.

  • Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair status.

  • Performs quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.

  • Makes decisions on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost and cycle time.

  • Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle and fenders.

  • Participates in all required safety meetings.

  • Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.

  • Directs the work of an apprentice in the performance of tasks when needed, i.e., unusual problems or questions and explains procedures to assistant.

  • Operates a variety of specialty tools and equipment i.e., mig and pulse welders, self-piercing riveting guns, aluminum and steel dent fix stations etc

Requirements:

  • Ability to use frame machine and measuring system

  • Ability to read and interpret OEM repair procedure and service information.

  • I-CAR welding certified preferred.

  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.

  • Ability to supervise repair personnel.

  • Must be able to pass thorough background check.

  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time and be able to walk, bend, push/pull, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch frequently

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
