JOB TITLE: Site Leader - JJM Franklin County 

Supervisor: Outreach Ministries Director

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Responsible to manage ministry outcomes to excellence
  • Responsible to assist in recruiting and training volunteer ministry leaders
  • Responsible to maintain JJM ministry data
  • Responsible to participate in chapter-wide Development efforts
  • Responsible to fulfill COYFC staff responsibilities
  • Responsible to actively embrace and uphold COYFC spiritual responsibilities


SPECIFIC DUTIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manage Ministry Outcomes to Excellence

  • Use data to facilitate ministry growth and accomplish goals
  • Oversee all JJM curriculum and make necessary adjustments to fit the model
  • Work with JJM Admin staff to meet deadlines, including time sheets, monthly newsletters and daily email correspondence
  • Work with JJM Admin staff to facilitate prayer initiatives and ensure that staff and volunteers are keeping this a priority
  • Embrace, promote, and implement YFC 5 Essentials with excellence
  • Annually review, train, and implement holistic model where needed
  • Have weekly, monthly or quarterly meetings with volunteer leaders for individual growth, encouragement and trust building with staff
  • Oversee quality control for Bible studies, chapels, Bible 411, individual meeting times as needed
  • Provide senior leadership at camp/retreat, and event experiences for students


Assist in Recruiting and Training Volunteer Ministry Leaders

  • Create and manage significant staff and volunteer roles to reach Ministry Results goals
  • Prayerfully recruit and train relational adult volunteer ministry leaders for JJM
  • Pilot mentoring program with specific goals tailored to JJM
  • Help build relational bridges and coordinate the involvement of the local Christian community to assist with providing services inside and outside juvenile detention facilities
  • To initiate and develop supportive relationships with court personnel and other service providers to at-risk youth in order to form positive collaborations for COYFC programs for students to engage in
  • To model and prayerfully coach your team on how to strive to have effective short and long term relationships with students who are or have been involved with the Juvenile Court System
  • Have weekly, monthly, or quarterly prayer meetings with volunteers for individual growth, encouragement and trust building with staff leadership


Maintain JJM Ministry Data

  • Work with JJM Admin staff on data for YFC Impact and use for COYFC Ministry Results/Score Card and make sure data is complete by monthly due date
  • Use data/score card to lead and inform volunteer leaders of prayer concerns, encouragement, and opportunities for growth
  • Support Leadership Development in credentialing and equipping efforts for staff and volunteers


JJM Development Efforts

  • Know and help to achieve team goals, train to be a See the Story team leader for JJM Franklin County
  • Model personal progress on required goals and encourage other teammates even if you are not the team leader
  • Offer regular feedback to the Development team, provide ideas, make timely follow-up phone calls, and participate in associated training
  • Help to grow 1-2 new storytellers each year,, leading students and young leaders to become capable of sharing their testimony
  • Regularly keep the Outreach Ministries Director updated on progress and areas that need improvement


COYFC Staff Responsibilities

  • Complete onboarding and ongoing training requirements for the role
  • Regularly come to supervision with suggestions and possible solutions
  • Do predetermined site visits when needed
  • Support Leadership Development efforts, and attend other training events that will further learning and/or team building
  • Attend COYFC All-Staff meetings and events

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the gospel.

As an employee of Youth for Christ and a minister of the Gospel, COYFC expects all employees to:

  • Seek God's guidance and wisdom through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives
  • Participate, lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC
  • Regularly share the gospel message with students who come into contact with COYFC ministries
