Primary Objectives of Position
This role’s primary responsibility is to support the Company’s commercial strategy and programs to win new business opportunities through a variety of product/service offerings and help with retention of existing customers. The Director will, with the direction of the CCO and input from the Sales and Pricings teams, translate the marketing and sales vision into specific projects and action plans, help identify and develop campaigns, communication materials, related collateral, marketing plans, etc. for targeted companies (e.g., BCO’s, NVO’s, Ocean Shippers), specific market segments, regions, and pools. This role will support all of the Company’s service offerings including managed fleet (subscription/virtual fleeting), net and term leases, private and gray pools, Pool-of-Pools, etc. This role also encompasses some responsibility for external and internal communications including press/media, Company updates, campaigns and marketing promotions, developing content, producing collateral, leveraging branding and branded materials, updates to Company websites and social media presence, etc. The role is also expected to oversee critical marketing functions to ensure the information and support of programs and plans are effectively delivered.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
· Manage the projects, programs, and execution of marketing objectives, Company sales strategies and related plans for all commercial products and services for the organization.
· Expected to effectively deliver on critical marketing and communication functions to ensure the information and support of programs, action plans, and initiatives are achieved with the broader strategy for sales, marketing, pricing, etc.
· Develop and manage the annual Marketing budget, as directed by the CCO, in alignment with Company goals & objectives.
· Facilitation of reporting on Sales Process KPIs, including but not limited to Sales Cycle Time, Opportunity & Quote Close Win rate, Lead Conversion rates and marketing automation engagement metrics.
· Develop, manage, and further leverage the Company’s branding strategy, plans, and collateral and act as the brand owner to ensure adherence throughout the organization.
· Lead the creation and distribution of marketing materials to include generating and dissemination to include collateral, presentations, signage, and advertisements.
· Drive and support the development and creation of content for corporate communications and messaging and leveraging the appropriate mediums for content delivery.
· Facilitate and manage critical marketing activities that are aligned with Company goals and objectives as set forth by the CCO to include marketing automation, email campaigns on lead generation, and existing prospect nurturing and abandonment.
· Act as the website(s) (external facing and Company intra-net) content manager for sales and marketing, Company-related announcements and information, approved presentations and also any materials for social media placement/upload.
· Provide critical support throughout the organization with its presence and coordination of plans and participation in industry tradeshows, events, conferences, etc.
· Develop, lead, and manage sales and marketing projects and campaigns as directed by the CCO that generate interest in the Company’s various products and service offerings.
· Develop and maintain formulated analysis of competitor actions and plans, create sales and revenue reports for leadership and stakeholders, support and manage sales and marketing projects, and facilitate in the production of content and presentations required for executive and Board meetings.
· Directly support in developing the monthly reporting and coordinate with the Sales team to build and deliver periodic reports on a timely basis to provide data, insights, and analysis for visibility into business development activity, reflecting/tracking progress, prospects, revenue and yield potential, competitive landscape and associated risk in the market.
Job Specifications & Requirements
· Requires a 4-years college degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a marketing planning role developing marketing plans, campaigns, business development/channels, or related functions. Preference given to experience in maritime, shipping, trucking, or supply chain organizations.
· Proven experience managing and developing full marketing programs and campaigns in support of products and services.
· Experience with collecting, organizing and delivering analytical reporting and understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
· Prior experience using and doing reporting and sales/customer management in SalesForce highly preferred.
· Prior experience marketing automation systems and tools, especially Pardot, highly preferred.
· Experience with developing and delivering corporate communications.
· Proven ability to understand, develop and use industry and competitor knowledge for support of strategic planning.
· Ability to learn and apply new systems to the business and its processes, e.g., CRM, contract management system, proprietary asset management, business analytics, SalesForce, etc.
· Experience and ability to develop presentations for senior leadership requiring competency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present to leadership.
· Proven problem-solving skills and experience.
· Strong sense of ownership for projects and programs and effective execution and delivery.
· Organized with the ability to manage numerous projects that require prioritization and with timelines that may conflict.
