The Process Specialist will play a key role in aligning business process enhancements to organizational goals and long-term objectives. To support operating standardization and process automation, the Process Specialist will document existing operating processes, recommend process improvements, and evaluate the efficiency of changes made to the business process. He/she will be responsible in measuring process efficiency, creating and documenting process designs and developing robust process documentation.  

     This position works closely between the Operations Department and IT to ensure the operating processes are understood, documented, followed and measured.   The Process Specialist works with the operating group to streamline inefficiencies using process management techniques & methods and with the IT team to automate work as needed.

     The Process Support will support other functional areas including Field Operations, Fleet Operations, Maintenance & Repair, Business Intelligence, IT, Finance, Customer Support and Commercial.

 Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Define, document and evaluate existing business process

• Determine and outline business process improvement areas to reduce waste and gain efficiency

• Oversee the implementation of new workflows and operational processes to improve standardization and allow for automation

• Gather, organize, record, and analyze the needs of all customers, internal and external, to understand the direction of process development

• Analyze and measure implemented changes to business processes and adjust as needed

• Coordinate business process improvement strategies with internal stakeholders

• Work with departments to ensure the roll out of new processes is introduced seamlessly and support process workshops as needed

• Perform ongoing analyses on business processes related to productivity, quality, cost, and time management and revise and update procedures and policies as needed

• Maintain internal catalogue of business unit Standard Operating Procedures and workflows

• Develop and maintain a platform for efficiently communicating the roll out of new processes company wide

• Include the use of forms to eliminate the guess work and inefficiencies that result from open ended processes

Job Specifications & Requirements

Minimum Education / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred


Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

• 2-5 years of working experience in business process mapping, process engineering, or lean/Six Sigma management


Mandatory Technical Skills

• Office 365 suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint

• Microsoft Excel – ability to create worksheets, charts/graphs, data tables, pivot tables

• PowerPoint – ability to create PowerPoint slides, insert graphics/images/shapes, animate slides


Other Preferred Skills:

• Certification in business process methods (DMAIC, Lean/Six Sigma, BPM)

• Prior experience working with business process mapping and workflow tools (e.g. Vizio, Decisions, KissFlow, SmartSheet)

• Excellent diagraming skills
