StorySlab is seeking tenacious Sales Development Representatives (SDR) to join our growing sales team preferably in Syracuse, NY. This is an entry-level sales and marketing role in the software industry. The role is a great opportunity for motivated individuals that are looking to start a career in business development and technology sales. 

StorySlab solves real-world problems by streamlining the inefficient industry of Sales Enablement. We make software tools to equip sales reps in their conversations with their prospects. 

What you’ll do:

  • Reach out to potential customers, largely by telephone but periodically via email, LinkedIn and other digital marketing formats, to see if they are a fit for the StorySlab offering. 

  • Balance email and cold calling strategies to schedule demo’s for Account Executives, and on occasion deliver those sales demonstrations yourself.

  • Learn from an experienced Account Executive though sales opportunities that you uncover.

  • Work hands on with sales tools to increase productivity and effectiveness (CRM, Marketing Automation, Sales Automation, etc.) 

  • Attend training sessions on StorySlab products and selling software in general. 

  • Occasional travel to attend conferences and other industry events to assist in sales and marketing.

  • Occasionally represent StorySlab at other events.

  • Shadow your dedicated Account Executive in meetings and other activities to help you acquire the skills you’ll need for your next role on the sales team.

What you’ll need:

  • BA/BS degree preferred, but not required, and 1-3 years of professional work experience in Sales, Retail, etc.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. You should be a persuasive writer, speaker, and listener.

  • Fearless - willing to hop on the phone with new people every single day and explain StorySlab's value proposition as it relates to each individual you speak with.

  • Independent - Able to introduce prospects to StorySlab without needing someone to hold your hand

  • Candid - Speak up to help us improve the status quo when logic and reason require it. 

  • Flexible - things change around here. FAST. We are a rapidly scaling startup!

  • Curious - The intellectual horsepower to become a guide on StorySlab's sales enablement software in a matter of weeks, and the curiosity to keep learning about all its intricacies for years to come.

  • Organized - A deep understanding of email communication. You keep the inbox at zero.

Compensation/ Benefits

  • StorySlab offers a generous PTO program

  • A competitive compensation package, that includes base plus commissions where you can earn $50,000-$60,000 a year.
