THE WELL New York

Adjacent to Union Square Park and just steps away from Fifth Avenue, THE WELL New York is an integrated wellness center in the heart of New York City. The 13,000-square-foot space brings together modern medicine and ancient healing practices that focus on whole-person health. The brand’s flagship location includes a full-service spa (featuring a steam room, dry and infrared saunas, as well as treatment rooms for bodywork and skin care), a functional medicine practice and health coaching, Chinese medicine and acupuncture, an organic wellness café, yoga and meditation studios, a foot rub and IV therapy lounge and an innovative posture lab. The Role
THE WELL is seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist.  If you have a drive for success, a passion for wellness, a strong desire to work in a growing startup and are looking for a new and exciting career opportunity in massage therapy we want to hear from you. 
 
Massage Therapists are responsible for delivering exceptional treatments to guests and members of the spa in line with THE WELL's brand standards while maintaining excellent client care, innovative treatment protocols and working in integration with other practitioners across a variety of healing modalities. **NYS Massage License Required
 
Compensation : $80-$113 in service, $20 downtime rate
 
Treatment Standards & Operations
  • Perform all treatments at an exceptional standard, as per protocols and standards taught in training, whilst tailoring to the members specific needs.
  • Carry out an in-depth consultation with each member prior to treatment, ensuring medical history and concerns are identified.
  • Protect the member and guest experience by moving quietly around the treatment room and in corridors.
  • Use the correct quantities of products as specified by the manufacturer and not exceed that amount.
  • Maintain linen and product levels in the treatment rooms, ensuring trolleys are stocked, clean and organized as per the club standards.
  • Follow treatment room opening and closing procedures correctly, reporting any maintenance issues to the Manager on Duty.

Guest Relations

  • Maintain the highest standard of guest service by following THE WELL's protocols and displaying genuine care and attention to detail.
  • Consistently record member preferences, accurately updating guest profiles and communicating any relevant information to other practitioners across all modalities.
  • Ensure confidentiality at all times including data protection, medical details and any information provided in confidence by the client.
  • Report any member complaints to the Manager on Duty so that they can be handled promptly and effectively.

Health and Safety

  • Perform all treatments in a professional, hygienic and safe manner for all members, updating knowledge and training regularly.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness, sterilization, and hygiene of all equipment, products and linens in the treatment and preparation areas, following THE WELL's protocols.
  • Receive training on all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at Work Law and Health and Hygiene standards.
  • Act responsibly at all times in relation to personal safety along with the safety of colleagues and members of the club.
  • Support the Spa Attendants where required in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the spa facilities.

General Standards

  • Maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene.
  • Always be punctual and prepared in advance of treatments.
  • Support all departments in the club including covering reception and spa attendant duties as and when required
