Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator

Summary:

Responsible for advancing Messenger International’s vision by passionately ensuring that the Team is compliant with all applicable state and labor laws, standards and guidelines through the use of administering the HR system and creating/executing team policies. This role also ensures that the Team is following all applicable state and labor laws.


Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Collaborates with leadership to understand the ministry’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention

·      Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the ministry’s human resource compliance and strategy needs

·      Monitors and ensures the ministry’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance

·      Executes the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development

·      Creates job descriptions, interviews candidates, hires staff, conducts onboarding/offboarding and negotiates employment agreements

·      Manages staff wellness and performance reviews

·      Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management

·      Maintains staff records on various platforms, including our PEO system

·      Other duties, as assigned


Education and/or Experience:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required or five years of experience in the field; Master’s degree is a plus

·      One to three years of human resource management experience required

·      Experience in a non-profit/ministry organization preferred

·      SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or similar certification preferred

·      Proficiency or the ability to quickly learn a PEO/HR systems platform

·      Skilled at researching HR standards and how they can be applied to our ministry


Work Location:

Colorado Springs area


Job Type/Schedule:

Full-time, 40-hour work week with the potential for occasional overtime. This is an exempt position and is not subject to overtime pay.


Pay:

This is an experienced position with a salary range of $55,000 – $70,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
