Job Title: Donor Relationship Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Donor Relations & Development

Department: Donor Relations

 Summary: 

This position is key for developing and retaining partner relationships by connecting people with the mission and vision of Messenger International through relationship-based practice, positioning resources, providing excellent customer service, and donor development.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

·       Convey Messenger International’s heart and vision to partners

·       Strategically create opportunities to build relationships with partners to drive giving opportunities to support the mission of global discipleship at Messenger International

·       Help to develop and create content to support partnership relationships and drive fundraising initiatives

·       Strategically build engagement strategy to retain and develop donors

·       Support partnership focused events

·       Answer inbound calls and minister to partners

·       Place daily outbound calls to partners as thank you and prayer follow up

·       Manage book of partner relationships to drive giving opportunities

·       Develop, research, and build fundraising initiatives to raise support for Messenger International’s mission

·       Provide support for special campaigns and projects

·       Share outreach, projects, blogs, and other stories and testimonies with partners when applicable to relationship

·       Oversee partner projects and ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

·       Oversee and coordinate projects including but not limited to: partner emails, partner cards, fundraising campaigns, partner events, etc

·       Other duties as needed

 Competency & Qualifications: 

To perform the job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following competencies and meet the established requirements. 

·       Has experience using a CRM system such as Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce to manage relationships and development

·       Good customer service and communication skills; ability to interact with donors, Board members, volunteers, and other constituents in-person, by phone and in writing

·       Ability to manage campaigns/projects; ability to work from spreadsheets and to manage deliverables and timelines (Proficiency in Excel, Word, Dropbox)

·       Strong administrative and time management skills

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Must be results-oriented, creative, energetic, and possess a strong phone presence

·       Ability to work independently and solve problems

·       Excellent organizational skills

·       Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

·       Agile, able to change workflow on the fly and adapt to customer needs and business changes on a day-by-day basis

Other Requirements:

·                                * Physical Requirements: There are no special requirements to complete the duties of this position other than being able to sit for extended periods of time.

   *  Language Skills:

o   Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos  

o   Ability to write simple correspondence  

o   Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Organization
 

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience with outbound phone relationship/donor development.

o   Telemarketing, tele-sales, or other relationship development/sales experience

·       Knowledge of church staff roles and dynamics

·       Familiar with the Christian market

·       Experience selling to, or working with, a Christian demographic

·       Experience with Salesforce
 

Education and/or Experience: 

·       Bachelor’s Degree

·       2-4 years of experience in fundraising or similar field.

 Compensation and Benefits:

·         Full time hourly position

·         Occasional overtime hours needed during busy season and as work demands. Primarily in the weeks leading up to, and the week of major events, more full-time hours are required

·         Required to live in Colorado Springs, Colorado or the surrounding area

·         Eligible for up to two weeks of paid time off (PTO) within first year of hire

·         Eligible for nine paid holidays a year

·         Eligible for medical benefits, dental benefits, and participation in the Organization’s life insurance program after the first month of hire

·         Eligible for participation in the Organization’s 401k program six months after hire
