Senior Manager
Sycamore Tree Capital Partners, L.P. Based in Dallas, the Senior Manager will play a key role supporting the CFO. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to be responsible for all Fund Accounting processes and deliverables, and to be involved in firm-level accounting activities. The right candidate will be comfortable with “being in the weeds” but also have a desire to be part of building a new team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams—Finance, Operations, Investments, Compliance, and Investor Relations—and external partners including our Fund Administrator, Audit, and Middle Office teams to optimize fund and firm reporting. As the team grows your area of focus and role will evolve. You are expected to be proactive, driven and methodical, and reflect Sycamore Tree’s core values.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Senior Manager will have the opportunity to be involved in several aspects of the Firm’s accounting functions, including but not limited to:
Fund Accounting:
- Manage the firm’s outsourced middle office provider team
- Liaise with Auditors and Tax Preparers for Funds
- Monthly review of NAV calculations from Fund Administrator
- Fund and investment performance calculations and reporting
- Ad-hoc reporting to support fundraising and investment teams
Management Company Accounting:
- Review and processing of bill payments
- Tracking and calculating allocation of expenses to Funds
- Analytical review of monthly and quarterly results
Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an accounting or finance related field, from an accredited four-year university
- Deep understanding of private investment fund structures, systems and processes
- 8-12 years of relevant experience including Audit, Tax, Fund Administration
- At least 5 years of experience directly working for an alternative asset investment manager highly preferred
- At least 3 years of management experience, either direct reports or offshore resources
- CPA (or working towards one) or master’s degree in accounting is a plus
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, and ability to work with others at all levels of the organization with a professional business image
