Summary:

This position is responsible for performing operational and system support throughout the employee lifecycle. These systems and operational areas include but are not limited to: HR, benefits, payroll, and talent management. A successful candidate will have had several years of experience in a medium to large and a propensity for multi-tasking. The HR Support Specialist must be a collaborative partner and act as advocate for our employees with 3rd party vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

 

The following include but are not limited to the following functional areas, HR, benefits, payroll, and talent management:

 

·         Research and provide guidance to employees and 3rd party vendors ensuring timely and accurate issue resolution

·         Safeguard employee data and follow Data Privacy guidelines and protocols

·         Ensure employee data is entered timely and accurately resulting in correct pay and benefits

·         Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, as well as company policy and practice

·         Assist in the management of self-service transactions and workflow

·         Ensure successful data entry on employee and manager life cycle transactions

·         Responsible for maintaining and updating portal documentation

·         Act as a subject matter expert on related processes and procedures 

·         Partner with third parties and internal teams to identify process improvements

·         Support the development and maintenance of HR policies, practices, and process

·         Fulfill reporting requests including monthly accrual liability, benefit data, salary history, web user configuration, OSHA hours, etc.

·         Fulfill required compliance reporting

·         Research and deliver necessary information for legal subpoenas

·         Support and management of unemployment claims and appeals as requested

·         Verification of Employment

·         Provides support to HR to execute key HR initiatives and processes to drive continuous improvement in the areas of organization effectiveness, staffing, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits, employment practices and compliance.

·         Keeps informed of matters affecting employee morale and develops and recommends programs to foster positive employee morale and a free flow of information between employees and management.

·         Assists in succession planning, turnover management, compensation/incentive planning /design, and performance management processes

·         Assist employee understanding of benefits, open enrollment, worker’s compensation reporting, Leave of Absence policies and other Employee Handbook policies

·         Develop and sustain a robust exit interview process to effectively report and analyze

·         Supports and executes change management communications and trainings

·         Provide backup support to peers, which includes but is not limited to, payroll, benefits and talent management

·         Develops and supports an effective hiring process ensuring the best onboarding experience for new employees

 

Additional Duties

 

·         Manage uniform inventory in the corporate office and fulfill operator requests timely

·         Deliver office mail as needed

·         Manage HR calendar of events

·         Assist with invoicing

·         Other duties as assigned management

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         3-5 years in HR Operations

·         2-3 yrs HRIS experience; experience with ADP WorkforceNow preferred

·         Excellent written and verbal skills and demonstrated ability to speak with with all employee levels

·         Ability to effectively function in a growing organization

·         Solid ability to manage competing projects and deadlines

·         Strong root cause analysis and process improvement

·         Flexibility in approach when resolving issues

·         Highly skilled with excel and other Microsoft Office products

·         High degree of integrity and confidentiality

·         Collaborative team member

·         PHR or SHRM-CP a plus

·         Experience with other HRIS systems such as: Workday, Dayforce, Ultimate, Paylocity or Paycom desired
