We are hiring! Recon is in need of a Security Systems Administrator to support our internal information systems. We are interested in people with demonstrated experience in Windows & Linux systems administration, virtualization, enterprise networking, automation, and scripting. We are looking for self-motivated, creative problem solvers passionate about cybersecurity and leveling up their skills in a challenging and rewarding environment.
The Security Systems Administrator position will work closely with our DevOps and SOC teams, and as well as our client technical teams as needed. The position is responsible for configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the systems within our virtualized Network Defense Range, which powers our NDR Training courses as well as OpenSOC and SOCX. The range consists of typical components of a Windows-based enterprise network (Active Directory, Exchange, workstations, servers, firewalls, etc). The position is also responsible for maintaining internal systems and cloud applications in support of Recon Security Operations.
Job Responsibilities
Support Recon internal systems and applications
Work with internal DevOps team to monitor and troubleshoot production security systems
Work with the range team to deploy, maintain, configure, and upgrade range environment systems
Skills & Requirements
Troubleshoot networks
Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems
Critical thinking and analytical skills
Consult with other engineers in productive, open team environment
Exhibit excellent written and oral communications skills
Have 2-5 years hands-on systems administration with increasing levels of responsibility
Have a working knowledge of enterprise networks including components such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, mail servers, etc.
Willing to learn, adapt, and innovate
Available as needed "On-call" (Some nights, weekends, and holidays)
Be a U.S. Citizen
Able to pass a background check
Competitive Applicants Will Have
Previous experience with administration of Okta, Google Workspace, VMware, Active Directory, Exchange, MDM
Experience with tools such as Sysmon, ELK, Velociraptor, EDR
A breadth of knowledge, with a willingness to deep dive into unfamiliar technologies
