Position Overview
At N2G Underwriting Associates provide technical underwriting and administrative support to our East Zone P&C middle market Underwriters on all new and renewal business. They are in constant interaction with various stakeholders, e.g. Underwriters, Operations, and Brokers. They may also support various projects, e.g. related to data-quality, renewal processes or cross-sell initiatives.
This position is a hybrid role if you are within commuting distance to the Jersey City office, if not, it is a remote role. The ideal candidate will be located in the Eastern Time Zone.
This Position Is Responsible For
● Assist in pre-renewal strategy discussion on all assigned renewals
● Review renewal and new business submissions for completeness and reach out to brokers for missing information in tandem with Underwriter
● Perform and document basic risk analysis, including loss experience, exposures and hazards.
● Review property SOV for correctness and submit requests to modeling team with Underwriter support
● Complete rating tools by entering exposure and loss information and outline year over year changes
● Identify proper SIC code(s) for new and renewal accounts
● Properly document all files within established due dates
● Maintain service standards by timely response to broker requests and timely receipt of underwriting information
● Monitoring the operational processes of all produced policies.
● Leveraging strong organizational and relationship skills to coordinate between various parties, including Underwriters, Operations, and Brokers.
● Ensuring best-in-class service related to policy issuance / servicing and billing collections.
● Acting as data-quality steward
● Assisting with post-bind activities.
● Resolve issues and reconcile discrepancies where needed, e.g. to progress the policy issuance or premium collection status.
Experience And Skill Requirements
● Only those candidates with 3 to 5 years of Commercial Insurance experience will be considered
● Understanding of insurance terminology and utilization of various systems (example: Reference Connect, ISO, NCCI and IRMI)
● Ability to gather and analyze data
● Self-motivation to complete work independently
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Capable of independently tracking and completing multiple requests in a dynamic environment
● Strong computer technical acumen with knowledge of Microsoft Office- Outlook, Excel and Word
● Understanding of foreign language(s) is a plus
