CorMedix Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapeutic products for the prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases. Our Company is focused on developing its lead investigational drug product, Defencath™, a novel, antimicrobial and antifungal solution designed to prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections (“CRBSIs) in patients with end-stage renal disease receiving hemodialysis through a central venous catheter. Recently, the Company submitted the New Drug Application (NDA) for Defencath™ to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Future research and NDA’s submissions may include indications for similar infectious outcomes in oncology, ICU, and patients receiving total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
Position:
As a key member of the Commercial Leadership team, the VP, Market Access will help prepare the company’s first product launch in the US. This position reports to the EVP, Chief Commercial Officer. The VP, Market Access will be responsible for pricing, the development and maintenance of Payer accounts within the commercial, government and other reimbursement market segments. The position will develop reimbursement services, including patient services HUB to ensure that health care providers and patients will have unimpeded access to our products and services. This leader will be an integral member of the team developing the corporate and product(s) value proposition. The VP, Market Access will achieve this by educating payers as they make medical policy decisions. This includes education on the value our assets provide Payers and their patients and our competitive position relative to alternatives. Primary responsibilities also include the development of polices that govern the support programs, internal/external training, budgeting and forecasting of program costs. Initially charged with hiring at least 4 direct reports with growth as dictated by launch timelines and commercial opportunity. This is a field based opportunity but may require some travel to our NJ office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for dialysis-specific deliverables related to evidence-based strategies and tactics for innovative reimbursement and payment models at key payers within the U.S. business (predominately CMS and managed care).
- Responsible for delivering concepts, detailed frameworks, and business support solutions at launch and throughout DefenCath™ life cycle across the following areas related to Value-based Agreements and Value-based Pricing Models.
- Responsible for executing on solutions at launch and throughout DefenCath™ life cycle across the following areas related to Value-based Agreements and Value-based Pricing Models.
- Evaluating RCTs/RWE/HEOR evidence and evidence gaps thus developing action plans and compelling value strategy frameworks.
- Developing frameworks with product performance expectations aligned to relevant evidence, leading risk assessment efforts, finalising payer analytics plans, collaborating with the internal legal/compliance/contracting colleagues, and providing input to contract finance / rebate scenario.
- Creating customer presentation materials and presenting to customers, leading payer accounts relationships, and gaining feedback/insight to modify negotiating frameworks to secure account alignment.
- Working with payer accounts and leveraging new technologies to ensure efficient data uploads/feeds onto analytic platforms, routine performance monitoring and creating corrective action plans where needed, finalising outcomes reports in collaboration with payer accounts, and ensuring best practices and new learnings are directly positioned to inform future value strategy plans and actions.
- Identify rich market insights across patients, providers, and payers to inform comprehensive market access strategies and aligned messaging across segments, including identification of key market dynamics, critical tactical programs, and portfolio positioning and messaging.
- Evaluate dialysis providers’ channels to understand the distribution model and impact on the business.
- Formulate competitive payer messaging platform to effectively position DefenCath™ within the hemodialysis marketplace.
- Develop training programs and workshops for access, reimbursement, especially customer educational training around affordability programs to ensure vendor policy compliance with dialysis centers.
- Develop compelling and differentiated product value propositions and build associated customer education materials for payers and dialysis organizations.
- Develop effective payer communications that achieve access and contribution goals.
- Lead in the design and implementation of affordability programming that ensures patient access while carefully stewarding brand budget and gross to net impact.
- Develop and enhance access and reimbursement resources for the Healthcare Provider audience.
- Lead promotional presence at key national payers’ conferences.
- Ensure development and delivery of applicable value propositions, market access strategies, supportive market access evidence, evidence dossiers, and pricing strategies for Moderna products.
- Well-versed in payer strategies, engagement, contracting terms across various segments; including commercial, Medicare Part B & D, and Federal systems like DOD, VA.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize across competing priorities while managing stakeholder needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in budget management.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to travel (domestic U.S. travel approx. 15-20% annually).
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience within pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry.
- Minimum of 5+ years of market access experience working in access strategy, contracting, pricing and reimbursement.
- Proven technical training and/or demonstrated experience of applying HEOR/RWE output for purposes of delivering strategic market access solutions (payer-facing experience is strongly preferred).
- Someone who has lead account management, payer marketing, pricing, managed care contracting, distribution and pharmacy supply.
- Someone who has lead bill and pay and sales via GPO’s.
- Experience in developing Payer Value Propositions is highly desired, as is the capability to contribute to population health management programs that support the implementation and pull-through of innovative reimbursement or payment models.
- Deep understanding and experience of the U.S. healthcare reimbursement landscape at both regional and Government levels, in the dialysis field, and evolving market access trends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific and/or business area is required.
