Company Description:
CorMedix Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapeutic products for the prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases. Our Company is focused on developing its lead investigational drug product, Defencath™, a novel, antimicrobial and antifungal solution designed to prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections (“CRBSIs) in patients with end-stage renal disease receiving hemodialysis through a central venous catheter. CorMedix is focused on obtaining regulatory approval for its New Drug Application (NDA) for Defencath™ from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Future research and NDA submissions may include indications for similar infectious outcomes in oncology, ICU, and patients receiving total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
Position:
The Director/ Sr. Director, Revenue Accounting and Government Pricing will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for all aspects of Revenue accounting, including all gross to net (GTN) and government pricing accruals, forecasting, and ensuring internal and external customer alignment. Position will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and oversee all third party business partners including 3PL and IntegriChain to manage all aspects of revenue, rebates, administrative fees, chargeback processes, government pricing calculations and compliance to ensure timely and accurate adjudication of payments in compliance with contract terms and overall fiscal discipline. The position’s responsibilities also include participation in SOX compliance, supporting analytics and projects within the Finance team, collaborating with other departments and maintaining an accurate and effective gross-to-net program with the company.
The Dir/ Sr. Dir will manage the daily activities within the following areas of the Finance organization: GAAP & Non-GAAP revenue recognition, (non-GAAP) sell-through method, ASC 606 compliance and profit sharing accounting associated with alliance agreements. The position represents an integral role of the Finance team and one that must work across functions of our organization, including IT, supply chain and commercial, to establish system processes, procedures and integration as we prepare for the anticipated commercial launch of DefenCath.
The Dir/ Sr. Dir, Revenue Accounting and Government Pricing is critical to the Company's continued ability to provide accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting for all revenue related areas and to support the Company’s initiatives. The Dir/ Sr. Dir, Revenue Accounting is responsible for internal controls to ensure transactions are being accurately recorded as they occur. This position is also critical to the preparation of financial information to be used in the Company's SEC filings, consolidated financial statements and footnotes, and will work closely with outside auditors and advisors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish Revenue Recognition procedures in compliance with ASC 606
- Manage 3PL and IntegriChain from launch preparation through commercialization and ongoing operations
- Responsible for establishing, managing, and maintaining all processes and accounting procedures that will facilitate an accurate and efficient monthly close for all Gross to Net accounting
- Participate in the design of commercial product costing and inventory process flow in ERP system by working with the implementation team members, including testing and cut-over in all phases of commercial planning
- Acting business liaison from Finance for accounting systems including Priority ERP, 3PL and IntegriChain. This includes testing and approving new functional requirements with the Company's IT team. It also involves submitting requests for new reporting capabilities as deemed necessary
- Manage relationships with cross functional groups including Legal and Sales Ops teams, and external Accounts Receivable, Revenue and Gross to Net and Government Pricing partners
- Supervise preparation of monthly/quarterly accounting of Net sales and related revenue accruals and compliance
- Deliver required revenue related reporting/analysis and commentary on performance vs. budget
- Develop GTN dashboards to meet the needs of Finance and Commercial Leadership
- Support the Company's reporting function by providing financial schedules and analyses used in preparation of the Company's quarterly and annual SEC filings
- Supports special projects and issues related to the development of the organization as they arise
- Less than 5% of travel requirement
Skills & Requirements:
• Solid understanding of Revenue accounting within the Pharmaceutical industry, financial statement preparation and other revenue related GAAP accounting principles
• Ability to work well in a team environment and independently, as well as in a cross functional manner
• Creative individual with high ethical standards
• Individual with experience resolving complex issues and communicating with senior leadership.
• Individual leader who takes ownership of assigned work, who can be called upon to coordinate/manage work of other groups, and exercise professional judgement in completing projects.
• Must be advanced in Microsoft Excel and proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constraints with little or no supervision
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (verbal and oral)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other relevant Finance concentration
• CMA, CPA, or MBA (a plus)
• Financial / Accounting leader with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, preferably in a public company
• 5 years experience in Branded and/or Generic pharmaceutical company performing similar role including responsibility for Revenue Recognition, Gross to Net and Government pricing
• Minimum 5 years experience working in an ERP general ledger environment.
• Prior experience with 3PL and IntegriChain (a plus)
