Position:

The Marketing Director will play a key role in the development of and implementation of disease state and brand strategies to create awareness, trial, and adoption of DefenCath. Overall responsibility for market research, launch planning, and marketing services.  Position will report to SVP, Payer Strategy, Government Affairs, and Trade Relations.

The Director will collaborate across all functions of the organization (Medical, Market Access, Sales Leadership, Sales Training, Regulatory, Legal, etc.) and our agency partners to develop effective strategies and tactics tied to corporate goals and budget.

This professional will develop an in-depth understanding of Catheter Related Blood Stream Infections (CRBSIs) and uncover marketing opportunities and messages that are targeted to healthcare providers treating patients receiving chronic dialysis through a central venous catheter (CVC). They will have strategic oversight and development into HCP personal and non-personal promotions for nephrologists, nurses, infectious disease specialist, hospital pharmacists, advocacy, social media, and websites. The ability to design market strategies, segmentation strategies, and optimize product positioning is a key component to this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the clinical data supporting the DefenCath brand, the competitive landscape and other products related to the disease state of CRBSIs
  • Support development and implementation of marketing plans, positioning, and messaging to achieve brand goals
  • Ensure strategies and tactical plans for HCP segment are developed and executed in close partnership with key internal partners
  • Lead the team on content development for sales meetings and plan of action meetings
  • Partner and lead market research to ensure the capture of insight and learning to assess the effectiveness of our strategies, as well as areas where strategies and tactics need to evolve
  • Manage and work productively with external agency partners, internal stakeholders, and cross functional groups within the organization
  • Help develop and refine the DefenCath commercial strategy to meet sales expectations
  • Develop and oversee commercial tactics and programs for assigned audience(s) (healthcare providers, patients, nurses, advocacy, etc.)
  • Lead complex cross functional initiatives that are high exposure and high impact
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs and Commercial Operations to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Coordinate with advertising agencies and vendors on execution of product materials and customer programs
  • Evaluate market research to optimize decision making and market intelligence
  • Collaborate on speaker training and commercial training functions as needed
  • Successfully manage budgets while setting metrics to assess impact of initiatives
  • Ensure the activities under their responsibilities are in line with company policies and procedures
  • Lead refinement and expansion of robust, data-driven digital, social media plan to engage patients and HCPs
  • Systematically develop and track metrics for media mix, consumer and HCP engagement and advertising effectiveness, while linking to the broader success metrics of the brand
  • Champion and coordinate the promotional review committee process with Medical, Legal and Regulatory to ensure the timely review and approval of key materials and messages.
  • Partner with Human Resources to support and develop employer brand.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Science or Business is required; MBA or Advanced degree is a plus
  • A minimum of 9 years of related marketing experience in biotech/pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
  • Track record of innovation and a high EQ; someone who can connect, shape, lead, and deliver
  • Nephrology or Hospital background preferred
  • Industry sales experience beneficial but not required
