Position:
Director, Pricing and Analytics, Market Access
High-exposure, key role with responsibility for pricing and modeling across critical inpatient/outpatient, government and commercial channels, and key customer partnerships. The incumbent will be responsible for directing compliant internal price-setting and monitoring processes (e.g., create and lead cross-functional Pricing committee meetings) including gross-to-nets management for key contracts, and forecasting scenarios.
Finally, this will be a strategic opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders to identify and execute agreements that reflect the full value of Defencath in reducing total cost of care. This individual will work cross-functionally with Market Access, Finance, Marketing, Trade and Distribution, Field teams, and Legal/MLR to ensure alignment to corporate goals and brand targets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains all report models for pricing, rebates, contract performance, on a regular basis; this includes the development, deployment, and maintenance of manual and automated dashboards.
- Proactively conducts data analysis and financial benefits across all market access including but not limited to payor contracts, patient support services and generic growth/opportunity.
- Monitor the activity of contracts, including varied price concessions such as chargebacks, rebates and fees to evaluate the impact on best price, ASP, PHS, MFN calculations in accordance with the established internal and external policies.
- Responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies for pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with government regulations, by closely monitoring market trends, competitor pricing, and calculating accurate Average Sales Price (ASP) to maximize profitability while considering patient access and reimbursement factors within the healthcare landscape
- Liaise between CorMedix and Third-Party Logistics Coordinator (3PL) to oversee executed customer pricing contracts (GPOs, Direct-buy contracts, PHS, VA, etc.) to ensure pricing, discounts, rebates, and terms are accurately applied.
- Prepare contract offers and updates based on data quarterly price adjustments, and analyze, potential impacts to ongoing and future business. Present impacts and strategic recommendations for approval to upper management.
- Calculate, analyze and assist in developing payor contract strategies, including materials necessary for proposal meetings.
- Conducting payer research, vendor RFPs, developing pricing strategies, building payer value stories, and creating tools and materials used by the Market Access field team in their interactions with payers and prescription drug coverage decision-makers.
- Critical channels and customers include: Dialysis provider organizations (DO’s), Hospital GPOs, Integrated Health Systems, Government accounts (e.g., MA-PD, VA/DoD) and relevant managed Payers(Managed Medicaid/Managed Medicare).
- Identify through claims analysis, market dynamics that shape brand demand and build models to portray risks, opportunities, and sensitivities.
- Perform timely pricing analysis and guidance to sales, marketing and corporate accounts organizations. Develop strategies for improvement/managing of gross-to-nets (GtN); evaluate against brand strategy and report results to business stakeholders.
- Develop pricing strategies for indication expansions and new product approvals, considering market dynamics, competition and regulatory requirements.
- Customer Facing for Claims and Payer Data Analysis (ex. Komodo, MMIT, Policy Reporter)
Skills & Requirements:
- Experience in data analytics in the buy and bill space as well as pharmacy benefit space.
- Strong market access knowledge, understands payor contracts, pull through strategies for contract growth and pricing across all segments of the market including Commercial & Government (Medicare, Medicaid)
- Strong strategy and execution skills, collaboration, communication, clinical understanding, and vendor management are essential for this role
- Advanced hands-on skills in Excel, modeling (e.g., ASP modeling and Forecast/GtN), and a strong track record of developing innovative contracts and being part of pricing committee and customer negotiations.
- Displays strong business acumen and is comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous start-up environment – self-starter and problem-solver.
- Ability to influence across executive and cross-functional leadership teams.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience
- Travel required to NJ Corporate office 1-2 times per month (Tuesdays) as required by VP of Market Access or Executive Leadership Team and occasional Market Access or Corporate meetings nationwide.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or science, MBA or advanced degrees preferred.
- 7-10 years of pharma/biotech/or related consulting experience with more than 4-5 years in pricing and contracting including strategic understanding of U.S. healthcare dynamics, market access, and reimbursement
- Strong Financial acumen, Strategic Thinker, and highly Analytical
- A team player that can influence the matrix and drive forward results.
