Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Process Technician. This position is responsible for conducting various product development activities to support development of new generation LED products. It is expected to work closely with product development engineers to develop new products, perform DOEs and prepare prototype samples. Additionally, the individual will be hands on and expected to perform any of the assembly tasks, as required, where extra help or focus is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support product development engineer in a) New phosphor recipe development by performing DOEs on phosphor recipe or blended phosphor synthesis b) Test and characterized phosphor brightness, efficacy, CIE, CRI, ratio and loading c) New product prototype preparation.
  • Follow the established phosphor blending test procedure to weigh phosphor, silicone at desired ratio, packaged in the test fixture to compare the performance of different sample under spectrometer test system. Record raw data and generate excel report
  • Support on precision phosphor dispenser tools such as setup and program troubleshooting.
  • Carry out testing and characterization of COB LED samples built in house or from other sources.
  • Manage R&D inventories of raw materials and maintain lab equipment.
  • Maintain the functionality of the phosphor labs including general order and housekeeping, inventories of materials and supplies, coordinating maintenance/calibration service calls for equipment, and performing basic troubleshooting of equipment.

Qualifications for the Position:

  • Associate technical degree preferably in material engineering in silicone and phosphor preferred.
  • A minimum 3 years relevant experience as Technician or 5 years of directly related work experience.
  • Hands on experience with dispensing, scope, die attached, wire bonding lab, and phosphor mixing/blending preferred.
  • Knowledge and skill for semiconductor package is required.
  • Detail orientated with accurate note taking in preparing clear and concise data analysis and technical report
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally, develop and maintain good working relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English a must
  • Experience in testing lighting products.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, R&D or production analysis software experience preferred.
