Job Summary:
Luminus is looking for a hands-on, self-motivated and detail oriented Test Engineer to develop and maintain custom optoelectronic test solutions for LED characterization. You will work with a team of Engineers, Scientists, and Technicians to develop, maintain, and improve tester hardware and software. You will integrate and qualify new test systems into R&D/production, including maintaining calibrations, SPC and MSA. This position is primarily located at Sunnyvale, CA.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct and coordinate design, assembly, and validation of new and upgraded test systems used to characterize optoelectronic devices such as LEDs, laser diodes, photo-diodes, etc.
- Develop and maintain software interfaces for automated or semi-automated test equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibrations of custom optoelectronic test systems.
Minimum Qualification Required:
- Bachelor or Master (preferred) degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related fields
- 3+ years building automated test/calibration systems
- Hands on experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, DC power supplies, cameras, spectrometers, optical components, automated and semi-automated device testers, motion control units, etc.)
- Familiarity with semiconductor device physics and understanding of optoelectronic devices
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis applied to test equipment, including SPC and MSA
- Proficiency in computer languages used to automate test systems, such as Python (preferred) or LabVIEW
- Experience collaborating with and managing outside vendors to specify, develop, and qualify test solutions
- Independently driven, ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks effectively.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
