Job Summary 


Atlas Lens Co. is currently looking for a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to handle the preparation and coordination of our daily shipments. A successful candidate will be able to work independently and take initiative. We are targeting someone with a positive attitude and great energy to join our tight knit team. Key Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for coordinating all incoming and outgoing shipments, including documentation.

  • Print packing slips and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy.

  • Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs.

  • Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped.

  • Process orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)

  • Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package.

  • Coordinate the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents.

  • Communicate with sales staff regarding order ship dates and prioritizations.

  • Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers or vendors.

  • Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance.

  • Pull pick lists for shipping.

  • Review all picking/packing/unit slips for accuracy, matching sales orders and part numbers.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed.

  • Organize inventory in conjunction with other departments.

  • Work with other departments for miscellaneous shipments as needed.

  • Occasionally picking up products from local vendors.


Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must have experience shipping and receiving domestically and internationally via UPS, FedEx and DHL.

  • Familiarity with one or all of UPS Worldship, FedEx ShipManager and myDHL.

  • Knowledge of airfreight processes.

  • Knowledge of BigCommerce/ShipperHQ a plus.

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with tact and diplomacy in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Strong organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and self-direct. 

  • Able to work with a high-degree of independent judgment.

  • Must be computer literate and have a strong working knowledge of Google Drive.

  • Experience working with Zoho One and Airtable is beneficial.

  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

  • Must be able to operate a pallet jack and straddle stacker.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Some interest in cinematography, photography, optics and the motion picture industry is a plus.
