Summary
Downtown Austin litigation boutique law firm seeks a litigation assistant with the ambition to develop into a litigation paralegal to support the firm’s successful trial practice. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and team-oriented atmosphere while enjoying the benefits of a small law firm. Hybrid position.
Responsibilities
- Maintain case files in Dropbox (classify, sort and file pleadings, discovery, correspondence, records, and other case related documents).
- Create, organize, and maintain attorney trial and hearing notebooks including caselaw and supporting documents, and expert witness notebooks in both electronic and (if required) physical binder form.
- Calendar Zoom and Teams meetings.
- Schedule depositions for experts and witnesses, and track exhibits.
- Assist with deposition, hearing, and trial preparation.
- Legal research, including use of legal libraries and computer data systems.
- Assist in drafting, preparing, and filing/serving pleadings, discovery, proposed orders, and subpoenas in State and Federal Courts.
- Manage and review document production in repositories.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
- Experience in an office environment.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Available for overtime, including some evenings/weekends.
- Available for local and domestic travel.
- Must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Must possess a willingness to learn and exhibit flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently.
- Familiarity with legal procedure, documents, and culture a plus.
