About Director Brand Management

The ideal candidate will be prepared to join an innovative and growing team in the retail energy industry.  This person will lead and manage the day-to-day storytelling of Rhythm and its products and services.  In this role, the candidate will execute all brand, community building, and communications activities, plus play a key role on the product marketing front in the early days of their tenure.  This person will ensure Rhythm speaks with one voice and that this voice is compelling and desirable to our target and future customers, while also complying with relevant regulations. While this candidate will primarily focus on marketing and communication, they will be prepared to pitch in whenever and wherever to make the team successful.

 

Responsibilities

·       Brand

o   Assist in all facets of the launch of the Rhythm brand from strategy to execution

o   Identify ways to enhance the value of the Rhythm brand and its products and services in the minds of target customers

o   Establish and maintain brand creative guidance, including style guides, vision, voice, palettes, architecture

o   Identify and actively manage industry-related resources, websites, reviews sites to extract useful feedback for the business and to enhance the brand’s standing

·       Consumer/Market Research

o   Conduct customer research to understand key customer segments (mindsets, behaviors, buying habits, journeys)

o   Conduct market and competitive analysis to anticipate trends and identify growth opportunities

·       Communications

o   Develop the strategy for community building and engagement around the brand

o   Develop a communications plan, budget, and KPIs that align with corporate strategy and sales goals

o   Manage development of promotional collateral to establish and enhance brand perceptions

o   Lead the development and maintenance of firm-related social media communities, i.e., Facebook, Twitter

o   Create meaningful brand activations that drive brand awareness in pursuit of our goal to be the most recognized sustainable energy brand in the country

o   Understand how to analyze and report success and ROI of marketing campaigns

o   Ensure legal and regulatory approvals of all communications

·       Collaborate

o   Collaborate with Product to define and launch new products and product enhancements

o   Collaborate with Customer Service to understand experiences of current customers to improve future communications

o   Collaborate with Rhythm stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure unity of voice and on-brand communications

o   Provide day-to-day leadership (scope, schedule, cost) to creative, public relations, and other agencies

o   Mentor junior staff to make them leaders of tomorrow

 

Qualifications

·       Willingness to learn, be a self-starter, with a “get-it-done” attitude

·       Creative problem solver, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously

·       Creative ability to evaluate and/or produce original thinking and ideas

·       Bachelor’s degree in a marketing, design or communications-related field, MBA preferred

·       5+ Years of brand management, preferred experience working for a commodity, technology, or new innovative product company

·       Public relations, corporate communication, or product marketing experience, a plus

·       Creative agency experience, a plus

·       Graphic design and or copywriting experience, a plus

·       Experience leading teams and developing junior staff

·       Experience selecting and managing agencies, e.g., creative, media, PR

·       Passion for renewable energy, conservation, and sustainability

·       Analytical skills with great attention to detail

 

Geography

·       Rhythm is headquartered in Houston, Texas with plans for a New York City area office in 2021

·       Preference will be given to candidates in Houston or NYC area

·       Non-Houston candidates will be expected to travel ~25% of the time in their first year
