URBAN TXT: Teens Exploring Technology
URBAN TXT: Teens Exploring Technology is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization focused on inspiring young men of color to become confident leaders. We use technology as a tool to improve the lives of those living in marginalized communities. Our interdisciplinary curriculum develops leadership, entrepreneurship, design and coding skills among underrepresented teens. We value empowerment, agility, innovation, creativity and leadership. At the end of the day, our main focus is to develop young men of color into innovative, futuristic, unbound thinkers who will change the world through their passions.
Senior Program Manager
The Senior Program Manager leads end-to-end execution of URBAN TXT’s program portfolio, including the Summer Coding Leadership Academy (SCLA), SEALS, Alumni engagement, apprenticeship program, mentorship, coaching/college prep, and school-year workshops. This role is focused on youth development, operations-heavy and impact-driven: you will plan, staff, run, and continuously improve programs so students experience high-quality learning, strong outcomes and transforming the lives of young Black and Latino boys in low-income communities. Coding experience is not required; passion for youth development, leadership, and entrepreneurship is essential. You will manage the program assessments, maintain records and monitor student progress. The successful candidate needs to be highly organized and have strong personal emotional intelligence.

Program Management
- Plan and execute the suite or URBAN TXT’s programs which includes our flagship. program Summer Coding and Leadership Academy which includes the leadership camp.
- Oversee and conduct pre and post assessments.
- Coordinate the recruitment and outreach of the High School Students to participate in SCLA.
- Oversee the selection of program participants and lead the volunteer selection committee.
- Assist in developing strategies to engage youth from URBAN TXT year around.
- Recruit, hire and oversee youth development training for all SCLA staff.
- Collaborate with staff to develop innovative curriculum that include transformative, experiential learning experiences which develop unbound thinkers
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Technology Team to ensure alignment between youth development goals and program outcomes.
- Oversee Demo Day.
- Build relationships with parents and guardians of SCLA Participants.
External Relations and Collaboration
- Support partnerships with local school partners
- Represent URBAN TXT at local events, community gatherings, or workshops and trainings
- Work directly with high schools to deliver presentations to recruit SCLA participants
- Recruit and interview college coaches
- Recruit Professional Speakers and volunteers
- Work with external partners to have partnership with the Summer Coding Leadership Academy and all programs

- Demonstrated ability to work independently, creatively with initiative and accurately with minimal supervision
- Skills in analyzing information, problems, situation, practices or procedures to define the problem or objective.
