Long Capture has an established track record of helping get the nation’s best technologies to the hands of the warfighter by promoting the advancement of commercial companies and their technology through government funding programs. Long Capture guides their clients through the federal acquisition process by facilitating Department of Defense (DoD) strategy development, contract advising, proposal preparation, and business development activities. By leveraging its network of government officials, industry partners, and universities, Long Capture drives growth for their clients in the DoD space. 

 

What is This Position About? 

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development of all marketing strategies and overseeing the related activities within the marketing department. This includes, but is not limited to, brand development, graphic design, content development, digital marketing, events, merchandising, public relations, internal communications, and budget management. The Marketing Manager will plan and execute strategic campaigns with a clear focus on achieving specific key performance indicators (KPIs), actively ensuring return on investment (ROI) throughout all employed strategies. He or she will be responsible for collaborating with other teams to develop communication strategies and accompanying processes and materials for both internal and external initiatives. Additionally, he or she will be responsible for directly overseeing the employees assigned to the marketing team, investing in their professional development. He or she will work collaboratively with sales and business development staff to develop strategies and best practices for connecting with potential clients, government contacts, and strategic partners. He or she will manage the company’s CRM, HubSpot, continually optimizing the platform and serving as the HubSpot subject matter expert. The Marketing Manager will also be responsible for developing and maintaining knowledge of our industry, including industry trends, opportunities, and competitors.

What Will You Be Responsible For? 

  • Oversee the development and execution of internal and external communication functions  

  • Collaborate with Executives to plan, implement, and maintain the marketing and events budget, aligning it with business objectives and optimizing resource allocation  

  • Lead a high-performing marketing team, including, but not limited to, establishing goals and performance metrics, providing guidance, mentorship, and support, and fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment 

  • Develop, manage, and protect the company’s brand 

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing campaigns, utilizing strategic planning and innovative approaches and ensuring alignment with business objectives 

  • Evaluate and develop our marketing strategy and marketing plan by analyzing market trends, identifying target markets, and defining the positioning and messaging for our services  

  • Analyze performance and analytics for all platforms to identify opportunities for growth, optimization, and innovation 

  • Manage and optimize HubSpot, acting as the point-of-resource for internal company use and working to enhance the CRM functionality and data 

  • Oversee the organization of company conferences and major events 

  • Collaborate with staff, including Executives, Sales, Business Development, and Human Resources, to understand their vision, ideas, and objectives and translate them into actionable marketing strategies that produce results 

  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, competitors, and innovations, and adapt marketing strategies accordingly 

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics and analyze data, trends, and feedback to drive decision-making, optimize marketing strategies, and develop actionable plans 

  • Other duties, as assigned  

 

What Qualifications Do You Need? 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing a team of marketing professionals leveraging performance management best practices 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred 

  • Previous experience working in the defense or tech industry strongly preferred 

  • Proven track record in service-based, lead generation, and non-traditional marketing 

  • High emotional intelligence and ability to approach all situations objectively 

  • Results-oriented and able to consistently demonstrate self-motivation and drive to achieve realistic business goals while maintaining high-quality and detail-oriented work 

  • Analytically-minded and able to synthesize data into strategic action plans and identify gaps and opportunities through data analysis 

  • Ability to manage a small team and facilitate their growth as successful employees 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Demonstrated sense of responsibility and ability to work independently 

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up 

  • Professional and proactive work ethic 

  • Strong project management skills 

  • Knowledge of marketing platforms, including Adobe, WordPress, HubSpot, and Google Analytics 

  • Substantial experience utilizing and optimizing CRMs. Previous HubSpot experience is strongly preferred 

  • Thorough understanding of marketing practices and strategies 

  • Proven ability to manage budgets 

  • Competency in utilizing Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office applications 

  • Growth mindset and adaptability to keep up with frequently changing industry 

  • Moderate travel required (25%)
