Long Capture has an established track record of helping the nation’s best technologies get to the hands of the warfighter by promoting the advancement of commercial companies and their technology through government funding programs and contract opportunities. Long Capture guides their clients through the federal acquisition process by facilitating Department of War (DoW) strategy development, contract advising, proposal preparation, and business development activities. By leveraging its network of government officials, industry partners, and universities, Long Capture drives revenue growth for their clients in the DoW space. 

 

What Is This Position About? 

The Co-Op Associate Sales Representative is a hands-on learning role designed for current students interested in sales, business development, consulting, communications, or federal contracting. In this role, you’ll support our sales and business development efforts by helping research potential clients, conducting outreach, preparing meeting materials, and supporting industry events. You’ll work closely with experienced team members who will provide structure, feedback, and mentorship throughout the co-op term. This role balances learning, execution, and professional growth, giving you exposure to real client conversations and business processes while building transferable skills.

What Will You Be Responsible For? 

  • Research businesses, organizations and individuals to support targeted outreach efforts 

  • Assist with outreach activities across email, LinkedIn, and virtual meetings 

  • Help prepare agendas, background research, and briefing materials for sales meetings 

  • Participate in and support client and prospect meetings (listening, note-taking, follow-ups) 

  • Capture meeting notes and key details in our CRM system 

  • Support pipeline organization and contact tracking 

  • Assist with sales proposals and early-state engagement activities 

  • Support industry research and help track market trends 

  • Assist with conferences and event preparation, execution, and follow-up 

  • Collaborate with internal team members in a professional remote environment 

  • Moderate travel required (~25%) 

 

What Qualifications Do You Need? 

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting in small group meetings 

  • Attention to detail and follow-through 

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office  

  • Ability to follow structured processes 

  • Demonstrated sense of responsibility and ability to work independently, take initiative, and work through challenges 

  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks 

  • Comfortable with receiving constructive feedback and ability to apply feedback in their role 

  • Growth mindset and adaptability to keep up with frequently changing industry 

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment 

  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time 

 

What Are the Work Conditions & Requirements? 

  • Primarily remote role with regular video meetings; must have a quiet, professional workspace and be comfortable on camera 

  • Reliable high-speed internet 

  • Ability to perform essential functions in an office‑style setting (extended periods of sitting, frequent typing, frequent video calls) 

  • Ability to travel up to ~25% with occasional early/late hours for events 

  • Ability to handle light event logistics (e.g., carrying materials/booths up to ~50 lbs) 

 

Compensation and Position Details 

  • Full-time position 

  • Hourly pay: $18.00 - $21.00 

  • Paid, professional work experience 

  • Mentorship and feedback from experienced professionals 

  • Exposure to real-world sales, consulting, and federal business development work 

  • Strong resume-building opportunity with tangible accomplishments 

  • Company-issued equipment will be provided for the duration of the co-op assignment
