What the role requires:
- Generate creative and original ideas
- Draft engaging and informative messaging and content
- Learn complex healthcare policies and communicate them in plain language

- Assess and support development of communications strategy

What you need to be successful:
- 1-5 years of professional working experience (can include professional internships) specifically in writing, marketing, stakeholder engagement, program communications, or related field
- Excellent writing and copyediting skills
- Expertise in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, including exceptions and best practices
- Excellent attention to detail
- A passion for increasing health education and improving healthcare access and health equity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to learn complex healthcare policy concepts in a limited timeframe, and ability to apply those concepts to daily tasks
- Ability to exercise strong problem solving, and organizational skills. Includes the ability to produce consistent, insightful, high-quality work against tight deadlines
- Self-directed and can work on tasks requiring analysis, writing, and planning activities with limited guidance or oversight
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience using a CRM, email marketing software, and Canva is preferred but not required
- Experience working with federal government projects or in the health/healthcare sector is preferred but not required
Other important information:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in communications, marketing, public health, or related field
- Applicants should have the ability to obtain a US government security clearance, if needed
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the US for any employer; sponsorship is not available for this position
- Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates
