WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING


eCommerce Interns will support the eCommerce team at 6AM City, a local media company connecting communities through conversation, and redefining the way news and events are shared locally through a daily morning email, web, and social content. Our brand aims to provide readers with everything they need to know to start their day.

 

Must be available 15-20+ hours per week in order to qualify for the internship program. Typical office hours are M-F, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. This internship is paid and may qualify for college credit.


Through this internship, we are looking to find the next wave of talent to drive hiring efforts.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support daily operations for the 6AM City eCommerce team.

  • Ensure customers receive best in class customer experience through emails and chats.

  • Implement and execute a strategy for creating and fostering relationships with customers and gaining a competitive advantage in the market.

  • Ability to answer any questions regarding returns, exchanges, and damaged orders. 

  • Support website management including publishing products and updating products in the web catalog, publishing new site content and ensuring content pages are accurate and up to date.

  • Research, review and analyze competitors' sites to help develop current and future strategy. 

  • Design and interpret web-based customer and brand insight surveys to help 6AM City to better understand who our customer is, how they’re shopping on our site and discover opportunities to retain and grow the 6AM City customer base.

  • Ability to take ownership of assigned projects and complete them in a timely manner.

  • Develop a set of skills that make you a highly desirable applicant for future job opportunities.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Pursuing a career path in eCommerce, marketing, communications, or similar.

  • Self-starter with leadership skills and a passion for communicating information.

  • Strong problem-solving, investigative, and decision making skills are essential. 

  • Skilled communicator.

  • Ability to learn quickly and implement strategies based on observed examples.

  • Passionate about marketing and the local community.

  • Work effectively with a team and individually in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in customer service, G Suite, Shopify, or similar.
