WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING


The Branded Content Intern will support the daily operations of our Branded Content Studio, the paid content division of 6AM City that works with 300+ advertising clients across all industries to create custom advertorial/native content for publishing in 6AM City’s daily email newsletters, news websites, and social media platforms. 


6AM City is a local media company connecting communities through conversation and redefining the way news and events are shared locally through a daily morning email, web, and social content. Our goal is to provide readers with everything they need to know to start their day.


Applicants must be available 10+ hours per week in order to qualify for the internship program. Typical office hours are M-F, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. This is a remote position, with virtual management by the Branded Content Studio team, and occasional in-person meetings with the local market team. This internship is paid and may qualify for college credit.

We hire interns with the potential to turn them into full-time employees.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Support daily operations and broader strategic content plans for the Branded Content Studio, including: 


  • Writing stories based on advertising client direction/goals.

  • Writing social media copy to support stories.

  • Publishing content via WordPress, our newsletter scheduling platform, and social media publishing platforms.

  • Updating Google spreadsheets to prepare branded content workflow and analytics tracking.

  • Working within Asana for online project management.

  • Curating user-generated photos for inclusion in stories.

  • Learning all skills required to produce and track branded content.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Pursuing a career path in digital communications, marketing, public relations, social media or similar.

  • Self-starter with leadership skills and a passion for communicating information.

  • Skilled writer.

  • Detail-oriented. 

  • Work effectively with a team and individually in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines.

  • Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and WordPress is a must. 

  • Experience with social media management, Sprout Social, and Asana is a plus.
