WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Your responsibilities as an Internship Program Coordinator include overseeing the development and implementation of 6AM’s Internship Program in new city markets, and overseeing and coordinating the program in already existing markets and divisions. The Internship Program Coordinator will report directly to the Operations Manager, and work closely with City Editors and company managers that have interns on their teams. 6AM City hires interns with the potential to turn them into full-time employees.

  • Conduct recruitment efforts sourcing candidates via job boards, social media, college career offices, and outbound networking, to build and maintain a pipeline of diverse qualified candidates.

  • Lead job posting, candidate screening, interview setup, and onboarding of new interns.

  • Liaison between the company and the educational institutions (the student's faculty sponsor, the school's career center director, and/or career counselors).

  • Create environments for all company interns to meet and share best practices by scheduling and hosting virtual events, meetings, and workshops.

  • Create an intern success profile for each division to measure goals and progress.

  • Collaborate with managers in holding a semester mid-point check-in to evaluate intern’s work and provide feedback.

  • Train and equip interns with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the program, with the possibility of them joining the company full-time, should the opportunity arise.

  • Be the main point of contact for interns from pre-hiring to post-internship completion.

  • Oversee general human resources responsibilities including correcting timestamps and approving timecards.

  • Handle the intern offboarding and termination process including exit interviews for departing interns and collect data to better understand themes.

  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the program and services performed.

  • Maintain intern records and ensure confidentiality.

  • Promote a company culture that allows all interns to thrive.

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work Mon. – Fri. 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Experience working in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive.

  • Experience with performance management technology, payroll systems, and PEO services would be a bonus.
