WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING


We are looking for an experienced talent acquisition professional who is passionate about building teams that go on to accomplish incredible things. The Talent Acquisition Specialist / HR Generalist will report directly to the Operations Manager, and work closely with company management and leadership to support team needs in both new and existing markets. This role will manage full-cycle recruitment from positioning the company as a desired place to work, building a pipeline of talent, interviewing, onboarding, and serving as a talent advisor for hiring managers. This role will additionally oversee general human resources responsibilities including payroll, benefits, employee relations, retention, and ensuring a diverse and qualified workforce.


  • Lead recruiting, candidate screening, interview setup, and onboarding of new employees.

  • Conduct recruitment efforts sourcing candidates via job boards, social media, and outbound networking, to build and maintain a pipeline of diverse qualified candidates.

  • Identify new and innovative recruiting approaches to source highly qualified candidates.

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience, serving as the primary point of contact for candidates.

  • Become a deep subject matter expert on 6AM City, its products, and the talent needed to ensure that we become the most relevant modern local media brand.

  • Perform routine human resource functions through our PEO relationship to facilitate payroll, benefits, expense reporting, PTO, leave, disciplinary matters, and other related functions

  • Liaise with 6AM’s PEO service to maintain policies and benefits.

  • Handle the employee offboarding and termination process including exit interviews for departing employees and collect data to better understand themes.

  • Supervise and facilitate 6AM City’s internship program including job posting, offer letters, onboarding, timestamp and payroll approval, offboarding, exit surveys, HR account management. 

  • Develop knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.

  • Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality.

  • Promote a company culture that allows all employees to thrive.

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Experience working in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive.

  • Experience with performance management technology, payroll systems, and PEO services would be a bonus.
