ROLE: Lead Propulsion Engineer

JOB TYPE: Full Time (Exempt)

This position will be responsible for defining and executing the following engineering processes:

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Work in a collaborative engineering team environment to produce propulsion systems for a commercial human spaceflight module

·       Provide systems and technical engineering support for the Axiom module propulsion architecture

·       Perform trade studies for technical solutions, including make/buy recommendations

·       Develop propulsion requirements and interface control documentation for connection to the International Space Station

·       DDT&E and operation of propulsion systems

·       Perform parametric sizing and determine optimal thruster configurations for varying design inputs

·       Resolve problems encountered in testing and verification processes

·       Drive team to a successful launch and integration to the ISS by 2024


QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

·       15+ years working in systems engineering

·       B.S. in Engineering, Math or Science required (graduate degree preferred)

·       7+ years of experience in management/leading teams

·       Required: Experience with reaction control systems, cold gas thrusters, high temperature materials, pressure system analysis, oxygen safety, dynamic analysis modeling and propulsion components

·       Experience in developing, testing, and deploying flight propulsion systems

 

Skills

·       Demonstrable success/mastery designing, developing, testing, and verifying spaceflight reaction control systems

·       Knowledge of spaceflight legacy systems

·       Ability to develop next generation solutions within a high-paced, exciting environment

·       Confident, driven and dynamic leader adept at team building and management

·       Capable of cohesively managing a team of internal and outsourced talent

·       Oral and written communication skills
