Company Controller of Accounting oversees the Accounting, Tax filing and Financial Reporting functions of the management division of the company. The Controller - will play a critical role by helping MVPM, LLC. serve our residents and our communities. The Company Controller is responsible for guiding the accounting policies and practices of the organization; implementing systems and practices that advance MVPM’s operation priorities; and leading the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

Specific Responsibilities:

-       Ensures that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.

-       Oversees the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, and financial reporting.

-       Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.

-       Ensure accurate management records in Realpage which include users, chart of accounts, and creation of new GLS.

-       Manage billings for management fees, investor distributions and payroll.

-       Manage all billing at the corporate level.

-       Responsible for creating department budget for various tools and accounting software.

-       Coordinates audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.

-       Assists with Development department audits, as needed.

-       Ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel. Responsible for the continued development and coaching of these associates, as well as day-to-day management duties (timecards, PTO approvals, reviews, etc.)

-       Strategizes compressive reporting processes.

-       Provides approval for all ACH’s and wire transfers.

-       Any other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

-       Undergraduate Degree in Accounting plus CPA certification.

-       3-5 years of combined Public Accounting and Private Industry accounting experience.

-       Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans within a manufacturing environment desirable.

-       Experience in property management housing industry

-       Strong knowledge of housing legislations, regulations and compliance

-       Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting, required.

-       Strong knowledge of Realpage is preferred.
