PGP (The Public Good Projects) is seeking a Senior Digital Marketing Strategist to serve as our in-house expert and leader on all things paid media and social strategy. The Senior Digital Marketing Strategist will be responsible for leading a team and collaborating across disciplines to ensure paid and social strategies consistently utilize up-to-date best practices and tactics. They will be responsible for driving campaign growth and engagement to achieve social and behavior change objectives specific to each campaign/project. The ideal candidate has a strong background in planning and implementing digital paid media campaigns for a range of clients, and has extended that expertise into other channel strategies, especially social.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Management and Team-Building  

  • Manage and mentor paid media and social media managers to deliver on client needs as well as provide training and development opportunities. 

  • Anticipate and recommend staffing needs for new and expanding projects to the Director of Digital Communications.

  • Foster a team culture of cross-functional collaboration and learning, with your team and others at PGP.

  • Provide opportunities for staff to share best practices and thought leadership within the organization, such as Lunch & Learn presentations.

Paid Media Strategy and Execution 

  • Strategize and execute paid digital media campaigns across paid social, search, and additional ad networks and placements as needed, including overseeing the work of more junior PGP staff and contractors.

  • Work closely with the Director and VP of Communications on designing paid media components of PGP’s marketing and communication strategies and standardizing how we approach and resource the work.

  • Use strategic thinking and creativity to apply private-sector KPIs and best practices to reach PGP’s public health CTAs, ad objectives and campaign outcomes. 

  • Recommend and monitor paid media budgets for new and existing campaigns to ensure tracking to goals within allocated budgets.

  • Collaborate with Insights & Analytics team on internal and external performance reporting for client deliverables and internal campaign optimization. 

  • Collaborate with Editorial department on content needs for high performing paid media that reaches campaign goals and objectives. 

  • Provide support to the Research department on survey recruitment initiatives that utilize social media recruitment for data collection. 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for paid media components of proposal development and for providing technical guidance to external partners as needed.

Organic Social Media Strategy

  • Serve as the social media expert within the organization, maintaining a cutting edge understanding of best practices, features, strategies, and tactics for all social channels. Monitor and communicate evolving best practices so as to improve social acumen of others at PGP.

  • Partner with the Director of Digital Communications to develop and communicate multi-channel tactical strategies that accelerazsate the impact of PGP’s campaigns and programs.

  • Advise and directly contribute to content strategy, based on the campaign marketing priorities and broader cultural trends.

  • Collaborate closely with Editorial and Creative teams on creative needs (from ideation to approval) for all channels.

  • Collaborate with Insights & Analytics to monitor performance against target needs and KPIs and contribute to regular reporting, learnings, and opportunities for innovation and growth.

  • Proactively recommend actionable ideas that continuously improve performance and achieve campaign and program objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned


 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • 5+ years professional marketing, digital marketing and/or brand experience

  • In-depth understanding of social and digital media and ability to use platforms successfully 

  • Expert organizational skills with a proven track record of supporting multiple projects concurrently with tight deadlines

  • Track history of delivering results in both campaign performance and internal operations 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Expertise in third-party paid media, digital marketing, and analytics platforms and tools, including Facebook Business Manager and Audience Insights, TikTok Ads Manager, YouTube Ads, Google Display Network, Google Analytics/Data Studio

  • Experience working in other digital marketing platforms, such as Sprout Social or similar social management platform; Canva; and HubSpot or other CRMs

  • 1+ years of management experience required, multiple years of experience preferred

  • Facebook Social Issue Ad Certification and/or Google Certification(s) strongly preferred 

  • English fluency required; Spanish preferred 

  • Agency experience preferred, but not required
