PGP (The Public Good Projects) is seeking a full-time Media Monitoring Analyst. This position is ideal for someone who is an organized problem-solver and collaborative communicator, who thrives working on multiple projects and is driven to make a positive impact through monitoring and analyzing data in a fast-paced environment. This role is a critical component of our research-backed public health communications projects, responsible for development of multiple high-profile media monitoring initiatives. This position will report to the Senior Media Monitoring Analyst.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:
Monitor and analyze data through media monitoring/social listening platforms
Design and implement complex search queries across a number of health topics
Annotate and label complex breaking news events
Regularly conduct QA of data feeds to ensure quality standards
Collaborate on and communicate about daily priorities across multiple departments and levels
Clean and transform data using advanced text formulas, logic statements, pivot tables, and index/vlookups with the objective of being able to work and manipulate large volumes of data efficiently
Analyze and perform calculations across media consumption and advertising cost metrics
Communicate with internal stakeholders to achieve client objectives
Stay informed on news cycle domestically and internationally
Work closely with broader research, editorial, and communications teams to help support and inform project outcomes
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
At least 1 year of experience using data platforms to monitor media volume and analyze social media conversation: Zignal, Meltwater, CrowdTangle, Talkwalker highly preferred
A minimum of three years experience in data analytics or one year experience in combination with a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Network Analysis, International Relations, Communications/PR, Political Science, or a closely related field
Ability to collect, monitor and analyze data in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing time effectively across multiple priorities and projects requiring a high degree of organizational and communication skills.
Ability to ensure deliveries are kept on track, even during stressful events (crisis management, short timelines, etc)
Passion for breaking news, current US and world events, technology, and a great understanding of both social media and publicly-available data
Excellent data organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently & collaboratively within a team
Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills
Time-management, multitasking and the ability to work under pressure are essential
Strong online research skills
Interest and experience working to advance public health and social justice campaigns
