Position: Annie’s Place Volunteer
Accountability: The volunteer is under the administrative direction of the Annie's Place Director and the Chief Executive Officer of its parent company, Mommies Need. Immediate supervision is provided by the Program Coordinator.
Purpose: Our mission is to support parents experiencing a health crisis by providing childcare, community, and compassion. No parent should have to choose between taking care of their own health and having safe and loving care for their children. An Annie’s Place Volunteer is to supplement and support the clients and staff at Annie’s Place in fulfilling our mission.
Qualifications and Requirements: Work and/or volunteer experience with children is preferred. A desire to contribute to the fulfillment of our mission by sharing skills, talents, time and energy with the children, families and staff in our program is required. Being a friendly, flexible, team player is a requirement for being a successful volunteer at Annie’s Place. The volunteer must pass a comprehensive background check, complete Annie’s Place Volunteer Orientation which includes online training as well as job-specific training depending on the assignment given.

Work with the Program Coordinator to determine which volunteer assignments will best utilize the volunteer’s skills and abilities. Assignments may vary from reading and playing with children in the classroom, leading music or story time, putting together educational packets, assisting with lunch, or other duties as needed.
Complete relevant training required for the assignment.
Comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the Volunteer Handbook.
Follow the supervision of the classroom teacher when volunteering with children in the classroom.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with clients and staff.
Communicate with the Program Coordinator for any concerns or clarification needed regarding an assignment.

Annie’s Place is open from 7:00AM to 6:00PM with multiple shifts available. Volunteer hours are between 9am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Our program is open year-round. We are closed for the holidays listed in the Volunteer Handbook and when the Parkland Clinics are closed.
We will follow all guidelines (CDC, State, Dallas) as a response to COVID-19. All employees and volunteers will be required to abide by the standards set by Center Managers and Director regarding policies, cleaning protocols, sanitation and Personal Protective Equipment usage. We consider this vital for the health of all involved.
