Resident Assets Coordinator-Position Open

We are looking for a Resident Assets Coordinator to join our dedicated team. Our mission is to help residents create safe, strong communities where everyone has the opportunity to build a better life. Our team uses an asset-based approach to working with our community, with an emphasis on equity and inclusion. This position is full-time (40 hours per week), permanent and non-exempt.

We are a non-profit affordable housing and community developer located in southeast Portland. As an organization, we are committed to equity, social and environmental justice and addressing racial and ethnic disparities. We use an equity framework in planning, program development and evaluation.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Be a resource for residents living in ROSE’s affordable housing. Connect residents to resources and opportunities available to them in the community. Refer residents to appropriate services.
  • Encourage leadership among our residents and connect them to opportunities at ROSE and in the neighborhood. Involve residents in program planning, including supporting the Resident Leadership Council.

  • Lead and/or coordinate after-school programs, summer camps, field trips, and other activities for school-age youth. Lead and/or coordinate opportunities for families who are pregnant or have children ages 0-5.
  • Lead and/or coordinate workshops and programs for adults around skill and asset building, leadership, and community engagement.
  • Work in partnership with on-site managers to prevent evictions, support conflict resolution, and create clean, safe environments.
  • Work with other community organizations to identify potential partnerships, projects, and culturally specific programming for ROSE residents.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and other team meetings.
  • Track participation and other qualitative data for programs. Meet program and recruitment goals and report deadlines.
  • Attend household inspections with property managers and connect residents to resources when applicable.

  • Bilingual skills strongly preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with diverse and/or vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse groups of people experiencing poverty and other barriers that create housing instability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to confidently work with diverse groups of people of all ages, backgrounds, and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skill.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Manage and prioritize a variety of different tasks, track deadlines, and complete reports on time.
  • Understanding of racial equity and a commitment to prioritize equity; ability to implement equity into programming and structures. Training in racial equity will be provided. Participate in ongoing trainings and developing and achieving equity goals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word). We also use Google Drive and Canva and can provide training.
  • Enthusiasm for work in a community-based organization.

OUR COMMUNITY:

ROSE’s service area is located across southeast Portland, primarily the Lents neighborhood. We work with a diverse range of low to moderate income. The majority of our residents identify as part of the BIPOC community. We serve families, individuals, and seniors by providing affordable housing and community development activities to create healthy communities and vibrant neighborhoods.


OUR TEAM:

ROSE is a small but mighty team of eight people. We are currently working in a hybrid model balancing office, field, and remote work. As an organization we have staff fun days, group lunches, and holiday gatherings in the winter. We are a close group looking for a candidate who wants to feel connected to their team yet still work independently. We need someone who works well with all sorts of people, can juggle multiple projects, and can recognize the strengths and assets we have in our community. HOURS:

Full time position (40 hours). Irregular work hours include evenings and weekends.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must have authorization to work in the United States. Reliable transportation is required. The job involves travel between ROSE housing developments and other travel in the Portland area. The position is supervised by the Community Development Manager.


COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

Wage range is between $17.00-19.00 per hour, depending on experience. Position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance and retirement benefits. We also offer access to Employee Assistance Plans and Flexible Spending Accounts. We have 9 paid holidays, and offer a generous sick and vacation time package, as well as a flexible work schedule.
