SKBRF is seeking a Housekeeping Associate to conduct and support cleaning activities associated with maintaining staff work, residential spaces and facility laundry at the St. Kitts Biomedical Research Foundation. The housekeeping Associate will contribute to facility upkeep and maintained compliance with necessary standards of cleanliness. The housekeeping associate will report directly to the Facility Director.


 Responsibilities:


The housekeeping associate is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of common staff work and residential spaces.  Cleaning responsibilities do not extend to the research and animal care rooms and enclosures overseen by research and animal care staff, respectively. 


  • Work closely with the Cleaning Supervisor and Facility Director to maintain and clean the common facility spaces.
  • Laundering of staff uniforms, surgical gowns and drapes, animal care laundry, sheets and towels from onsite residences.
  • Gaining and maintaining proficiency with cleaning practices.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of cleaning methods.
  • Drive operational effectiveness and the definition and fulfillment of the facility’s mission through active participation in relevant staff meetings.
  • Comply with company and Testing Facility policies that restrict the dissemination of potentially sensitive materials related to company and/or Testing Facility operations, including, but not limited to information related to the facility use of nonhuman primates.


           

Qualifications and Skills: 


  • Previous work experience in a similar position required.
  • Good physical health and ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow team members.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be open to flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
