At Virscio, we’re always looking to strengthen the organization by adding the most talented people to our community. We’re seeking a remote Senior Talent Management Specialist to help us source US and Saint Kitts based candidates, identify, screen, hire and onboard new employees while also proactively working to manage our talent and further develop our brilliant community members and emerging leaders. Reporting to the VP People & Culture, this position will act as a talent management & acquisition business partner. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, five or more years of life sciences industry experience in talent acquisition, talent management, proficiency with applicant tracking systems, and an ability to devise sourcing strategies for potential applicants. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with others across various departments.

Objectives of this role

  • Provide input to ensure that teams consist of diverse, qualified individuals.
  • Ensure that staffing needs are being met with a long-term strategy in mind.
  • Devise and implement sourcing strategies, such as an employer branding initiative, to build pipelines for potential applicants. 
  • Create and implement full cycle recruitment processes to ensure a positive experience for candidates and new hires.
  • Form close relationships with hiring managers to ensure clear expectations for candidates and interviewers.
  • Identify training opportunities to close skill gaps and leadership training for current and emerging leaders.
  • Own the performance management process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria.
  • Source applicants through online channels, such as Indeed, LinkedIn and other targeted life sciences professional networks. Build a strong candidate pipeline. Work with external recruiting agencies to source talent as needed.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain an ATS system.
  • Work with hiring managers to finalize job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position. Compile lists of most-suitable candidates by assessing their CVs and conducting phone screens. Provide best fit candidates to hiring manager for interviewing.
  • Develop an onboarding program. Conduct new hire onboarding activities including data entry into the HCMS.
  • Source and identify training for community members that will enhance their current skill set and empower them to be successful in their roles.
  • Assist with the development of a performance management program. Own the performance management process.
  • Work collaboratively with the organization leadership and HR team to develop a healthy internal leadership pipeline for the organization.     
  • Act as the organization’s learning organization conscience by advocating practices that improve team effectiveness, personal mastery, employee engagement and continuous improvement while encouraging a knowledge attainment and change agent mindset.
  • Maintain records of all materials used for recruitment, onboarding, performance management, including interview notes and related paperwork, to share with key stakeholders, new hire documentation, performance reviews and other relevant paperwork.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or similar field. 5 or more years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role in Life Sciences Industry. 2 years of experience in talent management. HR related certifications preferred.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, ATS use.
  • Proficiency with social media, CV databases, and professional networks.
  • Experience in using Indeed database and LinkedIn Talent Solutions to proactively source candidates.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
