Virscio is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the optimization and growth of Virscio’s project management competencies and to ensure the highest quality Sponsor experience, engagement, and outcomes.  This role spans contract research service activities and internal and collaborative R&D programs, as well as defining and leading initiatives related to ongoing project management system and process improvement.

Specific near-term objectives of the Project Manager role will include:

·       Expansion of project management capabilities, processes, and tools in support of contracted studies to enable efficient study execution and quality of client communication, engagement and service


·       Develop and implement tools and reporting processes to enable forecasting of staffing, infrastructure and research resource needs necessary to deliver on contracted studies.


Primary responsibilities will include:


·       Manage and administer Virscio’s post-contacting engagement process with Sponsors to ensure continuity of Sponsor communication and scientific engagement with the assigned Study Director and supporting logistical team.


·       Review and become fluent with all project agreements to ensure the scope and requirements of all engagements are fulfilled, including but not limited to Master Service Agreements (MSA), Material Transfer Agreements (MTA), Individual Project Agreements (IPA).


·       Collaborate with Study Directors and the Director of Research Operations to actively define feasible study scheduling per post-contracting process and Sponsor guidance.


·       Design, document and distribute what will constitute the final project execution plan to all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment to the study execution protocol to ensure internal and external awareness and adherence to timelines, contractual obligations, deliverables/milestones, and budgets to ensure expectation management, both externally and internally.


·       Ensure Study Director compliance with corporate project management process and associated operational workflows, including quality control of capture of wto enable development and implementation of corporate and project KPI reporting.


·       Update and distribute the project execution plan deliverables, when appropriate, to account for scope, timeline, and contractual changes during the life of a project.


·       Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting per GAAP to enable accurate project and corporate financial reporting and forecasting.


·       Upon project initiation, act as primary point of contact for customers for general project aspects (non-science related).


·       Lead the adaptation and integration of Virscio’s request for proposal (RFP) resource planning models into the post-contract project management and resource allocation process to enable accurate forecasting of resource needs required to deliver on contracted projects.


·       Define, initiate, and contribute to development and documentation of business and project management activities and workflows that achieve the aim of streamlining execution and internal and external project reporting.


·       Guide Project Coordinator and other delegated team members in the translation of detailed contracted resource and budget outputs into Virscio’s project management and electronic data capture systems to enable study and resource allocation planning, as well as downstream stakeholder visibility and management reporting.


Education/Experience Requirements


·       Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree in relevant scientific and/or healthcare discipline strongly preferred


·       5-10 years relevant work experience, with previous experience in managing people within a scientific/clinical environment is required


·       3-7 years Project Management experience, with experience in life sciences, pharma / biotech and/or CRO industry required


Additional Requirements


·       Strong verbal and written communication skills to express complex ideas


·       Thorough understanding of the preclinical and/or clinical research process


·       Strong knowledge of Project Management principles and methods; experience with Wrike Project Management or comparable platform is a big plus


·       Positive attitude and ability to work independently, prioritize and work within a matrix team environment is essential


·       Ability to manage multiple priorities within a variety of complex preclinical projects


·       Expert financial management and negotiation skills


·       Structured approach to problem-solving, well organized and systematic


·       Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.


·       Strategic thinker
