The People & Culture Manager will learn and excel under the direction of the Executive Vice President of People and Culture and alongside another People & Culture Manager. This individual will work with a high degree of autonomy to assist in all aspects of People & Culture (Human Resources) including recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement and recognition, training & development, and compliance.


Although remote, this individual will work closely with team members at each location, learning the unique aspects of each town and the individuals who make up the Community. As a unique “start-up” industry, this individual will be crucial in the design, development, and execution of all aspects of the People & Culture functions. From developing HOPS (Haus Operating Procedures) to creating learning paths and team member recognition and incentive programs, this role will wear many hats and must be able to adjust with the dynamic needs of a fast-growing organization.

  • An excellent communicator: You have written and verbal communication skills to clearly deliver your ideas and directions to your Gravity Haus teammates. Speaking Spanish is a huge win for this individual and the organization.

  • Dynamic & flexible. You are organized and thoughtful in prioritizing your day, although can quickly shift gears and work with urgency to assist the needs of a 24/7/365 industry. You embrace an environment where you can adjust your work and play to meet the needs of both you and the organization. You’re a resourceful, self-motivated team player who’s comfortable navigating ambiguity and carving a new path with minimal direction.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • A minimum of three years of human resource management experience is preferred.

  • SHRM and/or HRCI certified preferred


What You’ll Do:

  • Think Ahead - As we grow we must build the foundation to scale. You will not only plan for today and tomorrow as a People & Culture professional, but think about scalability for the years (and properties!)  to come.

  • Effectively communicate  - You will work with individuals from entry-level to executives, across numerous locations and timezones. You will lead by example and embrace our inclusive culture, nurturing clear and professional conversations, actively listening and looking for resolutions where needed.

  • Using your skills, knowledge and experience from working in the People & Culture / HR industry, you will design and execute HOPS (Haus Operating Procedures) to foster structure, organization, and compliance to the organization.

  • Recruitment - collaborate in the People & Culture team to assist with all areas in recruitment - from marketing campaigns, to sourcing, building a talent community, interviewing, and hiring/on-boarding.

  • Provide support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

  • Travel as needed to the properties to meet with staff and assist in all People & Culture functions (recruitment, on-boarding, team member relations, learning & development, and having fun!)

  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for team members.

  • Oversee and/or conduct team member coaching & counseling sessions, investigations,  and terminations.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in the field of People & Culture (human resources), talent management, and employment law.

  • Learn and embrace the Gravity Haus mission, vision, values, and goals so that you can immediately begin to source talent that aligns with who we are and where we are going!


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Regular travel to property locations, currently Vail, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Steamboat, Aspen, Tahoe-Truckee.

This role comes with a high degree of flexibility, with the ability to work from any location in Colorado. However, given the nature of the role, you’ll be expected to visit properties regularly to connect with team members and ensure they are feeling supported. The ideal candidate lives in or around one of our property locations or the front range.
