Human Resources Intern


Summary

Our purpose at CloudHQ is to provide flexible, efficient, and resilient data center solutions to businesses of all sizes. Our growing organization was founded by the pioneer of data center REITs. CloudHQ has state-of-the-art data center sites located on two Northern Virginia campuses, as well as London, Frankfurt, Paris, and São Paulo, and we anticipate exponential growth over the next several years both in the US and abroad. This position will be based in downtown Washington DC and is within walking distance of Metro Center and Gallery Place.

 

Position Summary

The HR Intern will be a part of the CloudHQ HR Team, which supports CloudHQ and its sister companies, Cloud Capital, WindHQ and Dalian Development.  The HR Intern will have flexible hours, preferably at least 20 hours per week. This internship is projected to last 12 weeks, with possibility of extension. The HR intern will provide support for a range of functions across multiple disciplines within HR at an entry level. This is a great opportunity for individuals pursuing a degree in Human Resources or looking to kick start their career in HR.

 

About the Role

We will entrust you with specific responsibilities including:

·         Coordinate company recruiting efforts; including opening requisitions, posting job openings, candidate screening, scheduling interviews and facilitating the overall recruitment process.

·         Administer background check reports

·         Support the onboarding process for new hires

·         Support administration of new employee benefit plans and open enrollment for 2022 benefit plans

·         Assist with the gathering, entering, and validating data for HR, benefits, and payroll systems.

·         Assist with the annual end-of-year processes such as PTO Rollover and Performance Review Processes

·         Assist with HR presentation and report production

·         Assist with general employee questions as well as external requests including verification of employment

·         Support for developing internal communications including company announcements, informational documents, and newsletters

·         Adhere to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment for office and field employees, subcontractors, and clients

·         Coordination and support of company special events

·         Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Basic Qualifications and Requirements

 

Education:  Coursework or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field strongly preferred

 

Experience:  At least one year of experience in a professional position requiring strong attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism. Previous HR roles are highly preferred

·         Strong knowledge and demonstration of workplace ethics and commitment to confidentiality

·         The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with team members

·         Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills

·         Experience with HRIS, ATS, or other HR databases a plus

·         Basic understanding and knowledge of US employment laws

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word

·         Demonstrated customer service experience to maintain excellent relationships with employees and other departments within the company
