Summary

Our purpose at CloudHQ is to provide flexible, efficient and resilient data center solutions to businesses of all sizes. Our growing organization was founded by the pioneer of data center REITs. CloudHQ has state-of-the-art data center sites located on two Northern Virginia campuses, as well as London, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, and São Paulo, and we anticipate exponential growth over the next several years both in the US and abroad. This position will be based in Washington DC, and reports our General Counsel.


Position Summary

The paralegal is a self-motivated individual who assists in the provision of the full range of in-house legal services to the company, including maintaining and drafting documents; organizing files and legal correspondence; and calling on outside legal counsel and other consultants.


About the Role

We will entrust you with specific responsibilities including:


- Provide ongoing administrative and organizational support to the Legal and Risk team and other core Corporate groups

- Prepare memoranda, correspondence, contracts, reports and other legal documents

- Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy, cross-checking and validating information

- Perform legal and factual research, including property records research, as needed

- Facilitate meetings with internal Corporate groups and external advisors, clients and service professionals

- Organize and track projects through completion

- Solicit and review proposals from third-party service providers and track performance

- Assist with real estate acquisitions, dispositions and loan closings

- Draft lender consents and assist with general loan administration and loan compliance Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor

- Adhere to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment for office and field employees, subcontractors and clients

- Actively solicit feedback to ensure all responsibilities, activities and deliverables meet expectations

Basic Qualifications and Requirements

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, or an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training.


Experience:  Must have at least two years legal experience in real estate, construction or related commercial transactions.


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

- In depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations

- Expertise with Microsoft Office – specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel

- Working knowledge of legal database software

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization

- Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills

- Resourceful, results-driven, and capable of multi-tasking

- Experience meeting deadlines timely on a consistent basis

- Strong personal integrity with exceptional ethical standards

- Ability to work cross-functionally with a team, as well as work independently applying individual expertise.

- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
