Founded in 1989, Burton Enright Welch (BEW) is an independent, fee-only Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm in Walnut Creek, CA with over $1 billion in assets under management.
We seek a curious, data-driven, technologically savvy professional with significant experience in financial advisory firm operations. The Operations Lead is someone who will own data in the portfolio accounting system and in CRM and ensure accurate data is available when needed. They investigate what’s underneath the surface and determine the root cause of issues. They understand the strategic vision so that they can offer better solutions. Other employees know what to expect from this person because their work is consistent and reliable. They’ll work across all areas of the firm and collaborate to improve firm operations and client service.

Responsibilities:
● Tamarac Expert - you’re responsible for all things Tamarac. You’re tracking new functionality, training others, advocating for our needs, maintaining data, managing security and account setup, and finding answers.
● Support Traders with portfolio and cash management
● Custodian Data Management – managing data and settings at Schwab and other custodians
● Client Billing
● Quarterly Performance Reports - You’ll manage the creation, review, and delivery of these reports for clients
● Tax Reporting for clients and their CPAs
● Practifi Expert - you’re responsible for all things Practifi. Keep track of new functionality, train others, advocate for our needs, and finding answers.
● Liaison with managed services (IT) provider
● Keep data clean - audit data sets to determine accuracy and make updates
● Workflow process implementation and improvement - create new processes and improve existing ones
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree required
● 6+ years of experience in financial services, preferably with a Registered Investment Advisor
● Portfolio Accounting/Reporting experience, a plus if it’s with Tamarac
● Creative problem solver
● Well organized and attentive to details
● Ability to prioritize important tasks and balance competing demands
● Strong interpersonal skills like integrity, humility, respect, and empathy
● Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
● Proficient in Microsoft Office
● Experience with a CRM
