JOB SUMMARY:

NinjaHoldings is seeking an experienced copywriter to join our marketing team. This person will work towards developing a consistent brand voice across all marketing projects including landing page creation, digital advertisements, emails, SEO pages, marketing collateral and much more. You will work closely to make a cohesive voice that demonstrates powerful, on-brand marketing that engages prospects and customers and drives conversions. You will also work closely with cross-functional departments across CreditNinja, including marketing, development and legal/compliance.

The primary focus of the marketing copywriter will be on creating engaging website and email copy used to drive the customer journey. We're looking for someone with an understanding of the basics of digital marketing and UX design, who is also eager to expand their knowledge in a varied, fast-paced environment and who has vast writing experience in financial services.

This position will be offered as a 3-month contract to hire.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly produce effective copy that aligns with marketing strategy to support lead generation, nurturing and conversion across marketing channels (landing pages, email, digital ad copy, SEO, etc.)
  • Easily partner and collaborate with designers, marketers, developers, and product managers to develop compelling copy that is aligned with business goals
  • Edit new and existing content produced by other members of the team and outside vendors
  • Collaborate with management, other departments, and business units to create innovative, measurable content ideas
  • Utilize competitive marketing research and product intelligence to understand the competitive landscape
  • Establish understanding of our brand products, markets, target customers and competitive advantages
  • Maintain a consistent track record of developing compelling copy that is well received by prospects and customers
  • Help define, update and maintain brand style guides, tone, voice and positioning

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing or equivalent job experience
  • 2-3 years of professional digital copywriting experience (financial services experience a plus)
  • Financial Industry experience and exceptional written communication skills are required
  • Superior understanding and application of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax (knowledge of AP style preferred)
  • Proven experience with advertising copywriting, campaign management, PR or editorial is important for success
  • Ability to craft creative and strategic messaging that emotionally engage target audiences and core demographics
  • Experience with developing brand voices and proficient in writing detailed oriented copy consistently
  • Must be self-directed with excellent follow through and initiative capabilities
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment; ability to meet deadlines and be flexible to changing priorities; ability to efficiently manage time based on business priorities
  • Adaptable and flexible enough to rework copy based on legal, marketing and other stakeholder feedback and give and receive feedback productively

Good to have:

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices as it pertains to copywriting
  • Experience using Mailchimp, Wordpress or similar platforms
  • Experience with HTML & CSS

 Must have:

  • 2-3 years of professional writing experience
