JOB SUMMARY:

CreditNinja is seeking a detail-oriented, positive, and hard-working licensing and legal administrative support specialist who will report directly to the Corporate Counsel, focusing primarily on maintaining the company’s license management program and other general administrative support. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join a well-capitalized startup on the ground floor and help drive our success. This position is currently remote, but will eventually report into the Chicago Loop office. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primarily responsible for the company’s license program, including processing new applications, renewals, and related annual reporting under attorney supervision
  • Ownership of matters relating to corporate formalities, including the preparation of new state qualification and trade name registration applications; timely filing of annual reports and other ad hoc requirements
  • Maintain the company’s contracts repository up to date and complete; assist relationship owners in the execution of finalized vendor agreements
  • Collaborate closely with the company’s in-house attorneys, state agencies, and other third-parties to ensure that matters are completed and resolved in a timely manner
  • Other administrative support in the Legal Department, as needed, in areas relating to outside counsel billing, vendor due diligence, consumer complaints, identity theft claims processing, credit reporting dispute processing, and general corporate governance

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school or associate’s degree minimum, with at least 2-3 years of related experience and/or training
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and cloud-based software generally
  • Logical thinker and attentive to detail; good communicator; keen sense of personal responsibility; utmost confidentiality when handling sensitive data and information
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend consequences of various situations and make appropriate individual(s) aware
  • A desire to improve processes and maximize efficiency
  • Professional and effective communication style both internally and when corresponding with state agencies and third-parties

 

NICE-TO-HAVES:


  • Personal interest in the financial services and/or legal industry
  • Familiarity with NMLS online system and filings
  • Prior licensing experience supporting a corporate legal department or law firm
