The Texas Freedom Network (TFN) seeks a temporary, part-time GOTV Volunteer Organizer   based in Texas. TFN is a statewide non-partisan, grassroots organization that is building an informed and effective movement working toward equality and social justice.

The GOTV Volunteer Organizer will work on our get out the vote efforts. They will work with our Organizing department to activate parents, students, and community members in local Texas elections and strengthen TFN’s GOTV volunteer base. This is a temporary position that will begin on September 27, 2022 and end on November 15, 2022. This position will require 15 - 20 hrs a week on average. The primary responsibility of the GOTV Volunteer Organizer will be to recruit volunteers for get out the vote phone banks in targeted local school districts. The GOTV Volunteer Organizer should be high energy, outgoing, enthusiastic, and willing to spend many active hours interacting with voters and volunteers via phone/zoom.

Job Duties

  • Contact and build relationships with volunteers for GOTV phonebank recruitment 

  • Educate volunteers on the importance of voting and recruit volunteers for upcoming GOTV phonebanks

  • Work with data team to track data and follow data protocols Assist in coordinating and leading phonebanks, and training volunteers during early voting season and on election day

Qualifications & Skills

  • Candidates must have some experience in GOTV efforts (phonebanking, canvassing and/or, registering voters etc) 

  • Candidates must have a desire to learn and a willingness to receive feedback

  • Candidates must have the ability to communicate with diverse communities and leaders

  • Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Candidates must have access to a computer, cellular device, and internet access

Pay and Benefits:

  • $19 per hour

  • Paid sick time

  • $100/mo travel/phone/wifi stipend
