Texas Rising seeks a part-time Digital Organizer in El Paso, TX. Texas Rising is a project of Texas Freedom Network, a statewide grassroots organization that is building an informed and effective movement of young Texans working toward equality and social justice.
The Digital Organizer will work with the Regional Field Coordinator in El Paso to advance and grow our network of activists and organizers. The primary responsibilities of a Digital Organizer include expanding the digital presence and capacity of El Paso student chapters and developing digital campaigns to support TFN’s voter outreach and advocacy efforts. This position will also focus on a campaign to encourage members of the El Paso community to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
This is a grant-funded position guaranteed through October 21, 2021.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working with the El Paso field team to promote their issue-based organizing.
Producing social media plans and content.
Occasionally attending in-person Texas Rising events in El Paso to capture photo/video.
Track specific metrics and goals related to social media and other digital platforms.
Attend virtual and in-person check ins with the Regional Field Coordinator and Digital Strategist.
Qualifications and Skills
Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, El Paso.
Experience coordinating and executing social media calendars.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication.
Experience with google suite.
Ideal candidates will be able to bring young people, with a focus on young people of color, together and motivate them to get involved in the political process digitally.
Demonstrate a commitment to the progressive values, mission and goals of the organization.
Have an entrepreneurial spirit and the capacity to build and implement a plan for the region.
Bonus if you have:
Experience with graphic design, video production, copywriting, etc.
Experience with TikTok.
Experience with mass email.
Background in progressive/youth organizing in Texas, El Paso specifically.

$17/hr
Up to 25 hrs a week (schedule can be flexible)
