MoreCommerce is looking for a Frontend Software Developer with extensive CSS and JavaScript experience to join their Bucharest, Romania team.  As a Frontend Developer you will be responsible for the development and support of our e-commerce frontend and user experience. You’ll have access to a lot of technologies and you’ll be able to make important technical decisions, collaborate with other engineers, and ensure the scalability and performance of our applications. Our office is located in AFI Cotroceni Mall in Bucharest, the working hours program is flexible and there are many other benefits you’ll discover when you join our team.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and enhance our Frontend Technology Stack

    • Maintain/Improve quality

    • Refine our CSS framework

    • Create high-quality code that is reusable and well architected

    • Ensure our application is excellent across browsers, devices and platforms

  • Collaborate with designers to translate visual concepts into robust user experiences

  • Deliver on the expectations you’ve committed to

  • Evolve with an ever-changing industry

  • Stay on top of trends particularly with regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging front-end technologies

  • Work with the Development teams to implement web-based applications and software services for MoreCommerce platforms and sites

Who You Are

You have a proven track record working with the following technologies:

  • Vue.js or some other JS framework with data binding.

  • RequireJS/CommonJS modules

  • TypeScript

  • Less/Sass (or some other CSS preprocessor)

  • Gulp/Grunt (or a similar task manager)

  • npm/bower (or a similar frontend package manager)

 

Experience in the following is a plus:

  • Twig (our templating language)

  • Symfony2 (our PHP framework)

  • Hybrid Mobile Applications (PhoneGap/Cordova/Capacitor, Ionic, etc)

  • Frontend Code Deployment

  • Automated Testing

  • CSS3 Transitions/Animations

  • Jasmine/Karma (or a similar unit/functional testing framework)



Other Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience writing standards compliant and cross-browser code

  • Expertise in building sophisticated web applications that function on both mobile and desktop environments

  • Ability to test and debug code in the development and browser environments

  • Experience with Web Accessibility standards like 508 Compliance or WAI Aria

  • A self-starter able to handle the prioritization of multiple projects and tasks under time-bound deadlines

  • Strong communication skills; we’re moving fast and you’re expected to be able to reliably keep all internal and external parties up to date

  • Sharp, motivated, driven, yet humble

  • Ability to work in a distributed, unstructured, small company environment

  • E-Commerce experience

  • BSc in Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or equivalent experience and certifications
