About the role:
We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The Senior Systems Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware, and networks. They will be responsible for modifying and supporting our company’s computer systems.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide advanced technical support for server-based systems, hosted applications, and their environment.
- Provide advanced technical support for VMware and shared storage environments.
- Provide intermediate support for data network, including configuration, performance, and security.
- Ensure uptime and stability of all server-based systems.
- Ensures change control and other processes and procedures are followed, and that configuration documentation is completed when systems are deployed or modified.
- Responsible for engaging and managing vendor escalations, as required.
- Provides timely and clear communications to the client and the other members of the technical team.
- Performs project assessments, scoping and project outlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate clearly with individual computing users on all levels – in small groups, one on one and in writing.
- Ability to focus on detailed work for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver multiple assignment on time and maintain an efficient/timely daily work schedule.
- The ability to effectively document technical work.
- Effective both independently and as a member of a team
Who we're looking for:
- Someone with advanced understanding of virtualization concepts and functional working skills with various virtualization technologies (create/modify virtual machines, create storage groups, snapshot,
- Someone with advanced knowledge of Server Hardware configuration, support and troubleshooting.
- Someone with advanced knowledge of operating systems including Windows, RHEL, CentOS 7, and Ubuntu Server including PowerShell and Bash.
- Someone with advanced knowledge of Python, SQL, TSQL, PHP, LDAP, and SAML.
- Someone with advanced understanding of TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, RAS, VPN).
- Someone with intermediate knowledge of shared storage concepts and functional working skills with various shared storage technologies (provisioning LUNs, expanding volumes, configuring RAID, etc.)
- Someone with intermediate knowledge of network concepts and functional working skills with various network technologies (create vLAN, create static route, diagnose routing problems, configure ports, etc. clone/export, etc.) using VMware, ESXI, and vSphere.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 2 - 5 years of experience in Information Technology infrastructure support
