About the role:

 

We are currently seeking an Engineer to join our Network Operations Center. This individual has strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, upbeat, and positive phone personality with excellent written communication skills. The candidate is investigative, methodical, analytical, and organized. They should also be comfortable in conversations with fellow engineers and field technicians to diagnose issues and determine effective resolutions. They must be comfortable working with sensitive systems (via software and website navigation) and be able to work both independently and with others as a team.

 

What you'll be doing:

 

  • Monitor, review, and troubleshoot network equipment and systems including but not limited to...
    • Fixed wireless radios operating in the licensed and unlicensed bands
    • Network routers and switches
  • Handle technical and troubleshooting escalations from our Helpdesk 
  • Analyze data and traffic to isolate issues and come up with scope of work to correct 
  • Perform the occasional R&D projects to update current standards as well as define new SOP’s
  • Assist Infrastructure Technicians working in the field in the for routine maintenance and installation of new equipment
  • Program equipment to be used in the field such as fixed wireless radios, networking switches and routers, and security cameras
  • Routinely manage and update documentation for SOP’s as well as tickets, support escalations or project management, through our CRM

Education and Experience:

 

  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years previous support/network engineering experience
  • Not required but certainly a plus 
    • Networking/IT Certifications
    • Familiarity with OSPF, BGP
    • Hands on experience with WAN Networking (such as Cisco, Mikrotik, Juniper, etc.)
  • Strong foundation and knowledge of LAN/WAN Networking and TCP/IP and VLAN theory
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
